Zeigt her Eure... Socken!

Bunte Socken sorgen für gute Laune - der Meinung bin ich schon immer. Daher trage ich auch schon immer, immer Socken mit Motiven, Streifen, Dreiecken, Punkten, gerne auch mal unterschiedliche Socken. Je bunter desto lustiger. In meiner Hometown Augsburg bin ich damit (leider) immer noch ein kleiner Exot - obwohl wir Buntsockler mehr werden in den letzten Jahren.

Immer wieder werde ich auch auf meine Strumpfware angesprochen. Oft sind die Reaktionen positiv, meist wird gefragt, wo es diese "tollen Socken denn zu kaufen" gibt. Bisweilen werde ich belächelt, weil es mir auch recht egal ist, ob die Socken denn nun zum Outfit passen oder eben nicht. Da ich nicht in komplett schwarz rumlaufe, sondern auch sonst recht bunt unterwegs bin, muss ich zugeben, ab und an beißt sich das schon - was mir aber nur recht ist.

Interessant war, und so komme ich eigentlich auf diesen Post, dass, als wir in Freiburg waren, schwarze oder weiße Socken eher die Ausnahme waren. Eigentlich trugen dort (fast) alle supibunte Fußkleidung und hochgekrempelte Hosen - weil, man soll die Kunstwerke an den Beinchen ja auch sehen. Ich war angetan bis begeistert! Wie wunderbar, dass die Freiburger so herrlich bunt herumlaufen und zeigen, dass Socken nicht unbedingt langweilig sein müssen. Kurz gesagt sind die Strümpfe der FreiburgerInnen wie ihre Stadt: bunt, alternativ, weltoffen und ein bissal anders.

Ich habe mich tatsächlich ein bisschen in diese Stadt verliebt. Aus vielerlei Gründen: weil sie so herrlich alternativ ist, weil sie nicht nur Fahrradstadt heißt, sondern auch irre viel für den Radverkehr tut, weil sie in Sachen Nachhaltigkeit eine Vorreiterin ist - und eben auch wegen der vielen, vielen bunten Socken. Das erste Mal überhaupt habe ich jemanden gefragt, wo denn seine Söckchen her seien. Und siehe da, die, die habe ich jetzt auch:

Ich stelle übrigens fest: in Sachen Schuhwerk bin ich weniger abwechslungsreich aufgestellt ;-)

Colorful socks puts you in a good mood - I've always thought so. That's why I've always worn socks with motifs, stripes, triangles, dots, sometimes two different socks. The more colorful the funnier. In my hometown Augsburg I am (unfortunately) still a bit exotic - although we have become more col in recent years.

More than once I am asked about my hosiery. The reactions are often positive, and people usually ask where they can buy these "great socks". Sometimes I'm smiled at because I really don't care whether the socks go with the outfit or not. Since I don't walk around in all black, I'm also otherwise quite colorful, I have to admit that it don't fits every now and then - which is just fine with me.

It was interesting, and that's how I actually came to this post, that when we were in Freiburg, black or white socks were rather the exception. Actually, (almost) everyone wore super colorful footwear and rolled up trousers - because you should see the artwork on the legs. I was amazed to the point of delight! How wonderful that the people of Freiburg are walking around in such a wonderfully colorful way and showing that socks don't necessarily have to be boring. In short, the stockings of the people of Freiburg are like their city: colourful, alternative, cosmopolitan and a little bit different.

I actually fell in love with this city. For many reasons: because it's so wonderfully alternative, because it's not just called the bicycle city, but also does a crazy amount for cycling, because it's a pioneer when it comes to sustainability - and also because of the many, many colorful socks. For the first time ever I asked someone where their socks were from. And of course, this ones I have now:

By the way, I've noticed that when it comes to shoes, I'm less varied ;-)
