Diy Guitar effects pedal, Square fuzz Clone

in #diy6 years ago

Here's a quick video showing how I make my own guitar effects pedals at home. This circuit is a rough clone of the Texas Square Face Fuzz pedal.

I hope you enjoy, if you have any questions feel free to ask in the comments section.

Thanks for watching!

Those holes are a little extreme for cutting the tracks, but I guess it works. I really ought to try making some pedals, but I don't make enough use of those I have. Yours sounds great. Do you have a case for it?

Yeah the holes are a little bigger than they need to be but it makes sure the tracks are truly severed. I have a Hammond style enclosure I'll probably put it in after I try out different NPN transistors to find the best tone. I never really enjoyed playing on pedals until I built my own, now I have dozens of handmade pedals all unique to me. I highly recommend making at least one especially if you buy 200 dollar pedals. This one cost 7 dollars USD to make if you include an enclosure.

I was inspired by some of the stuff Joe Gore does. I realise a fuzz is a really simple circuit. I just haven't found time to experiment, but I have all the tools.

That's the first time I've heard of him, really cool website. Fuzz is definitely the easiest circuit type I've tried so far, here's a website I learned a lot from and have used for schematics: tagboardeffects.blogspot.com
