Lockdown project

in #diy4 years ago

As most of us are in lockdown and free time on our hands I decided to repair my daughter’s old garden bench which was looking bad

I think you would agree not very nice
I already had some nice wood in the garage so I started to cut it to length

At the time I did not have a router ( although I do now a mate give me one off his old ones very nice)
So I installed a router bit into my pilar drill

Not ideal but if you’re careful you can do it

And this is how I got nice round edges on the wood
And here is the finished bench

A lot nicer now and it seems to be a lot stronger
You will also notice I used new nuts and bolts as well, plus I think it was three coats of clear varnish to protect the wood for many years to come.
Thanks for popping in cheers mike
