Routines and Projects: December 18, 2020

in #diy3 years ago

It seems I'm falling into a rhythm here. A week or two on, a week or two off. I come around when there's willpower and subject matter to share. Here lately, my energy has been dedicated to other things than blogging, I hope that isn't inconvenient for anyone here.

Of course, the finishing touches on the house are going well, but slowly. The final nails in a project always go in the slowest for me. We're settling into a good routine at home, Melissa and the kids are back doing their homeschool after a brief hiatus, I'm working in the garden a few hours a week to harvest and plant and prepare, we're of course preparing for the long holiday and family time, and I've been hard at work in my sweatshop reloading and running the printer. Farmer Sam had an idea to print his mom something sweet, so we found a file for a little picture frame that he's going to paint for her.

I'm getting to know this machine a bit better, both through using it and through involvement in online communities. There's a lot of folks out there working with the same machine I've got, and they're almost all wanting to collaborate and get more people involved. Sounds like a good space for me. I'll be posting more about the printer and my sweatshop (closet) soon, as it's been occupying a lot of my time lately. This page may be transitioning to my non garden page, and moving the garden topics over to my other page, @foxfireorchards. We'll see.

I've been working on building more community around me, gathering like minded guys at work to come together on projects. Of course, working with the man scouts as well. I got to visit with a couple of my fellow man scouts today while zeroing the new optic on my rifle. @galenkp will appreciate this one:

I ordered a new Holosun HS503G-ACSS for bae, since I sold my Eotech to help fund house projects. Now that things are wrapping up, it's time to rebuild my rifle setup how I was about to do before all the 2020 happened.

The man scouts, my community and men's group that I've been involved with since early this year, are preparing for spring already. We're talking about ordering seeds and prepping gardens, and even trading plants already in an attempt to get more of us involved in our own food production. It's working. We're even engaging in talks with similar community groups to do a liberty people farmers market. I need to find out what I want to grow extra of. I'm thinking pole dry beans.

Well. I'm off to bed. After a full day, I'm beat. Hate to cut it short, but when it's time for bed, it's time for bed.

Love from Texas

Nice rig.

Thanks! Wish you could shoot it. Got my reloading press up and running this week too.

It's good to be getting back to a bit of normalcy.

Oh yeah, I'd like to have a go for sure, I'm pretty much up for shooting anything...Except airsoft and gel-blasters, they don't interest me.

Nice set up there and it goes to show that reloading rigs don't need to be complicated. You've got all the bits and that's what matters. Is the house coming along?

Went to check out firefox but no posts... :((

Not yet. I haven't figured out how to post there that's different than what I already do lol
