Today is the start of the singles semi-finals with the women taking centre stage.
Serena Wlliams will be taking on the unseeded Chezch, Barbora Strycova who at 33 is the oldest player ever to reach their first semi-final but will have to wait until the other semi-final between Simona Halep and Elina Svitolina.
Tomorrow of course, we will have the one we have all been waiting for. Federer vs Nadal for the first time at Wimbledon in 11 years! This is going to be a magic recreation of the old rivalry, possibly for the last time as Federer at 37 and Nadal at 33 are no longer the spring chickens they once were!
I do feel sorry however for their quarter final opponents whose exploits to get as far as they did will have gone almost unnoticed in the melee surrounding two of the games' greats.
Who were they you ask? Exactly. Federer beat Kei Nishikori 4-6 6-1 6-4 6-4 and Nadal beat Sam Querrey 7-5 6-2 6-2. Who? well, these are the guys who will have to take-over the mantle when Federer, Djokovic and Nadal finally quit the game but for now,
let's hear it for the ladies. Wimbledon has been more exciting this year than it has for a number of years so sit back and enjoy.
NEW BALLS PLEASE!

It's all about that semi-final tomorrow. Can't believe it's been 11 years since they last met at Wimbledon.
I've been living in Mallorca for a few years and not too far away from Porto Cristo where Nadal is often found waxing his... boat :)
So for that reason I'm siding with Nadal, although the Fed express is a total legend and I'm not really fussed who wins.
Might tune in today, maybe :)
