Never been a fan of dlive until now (after they left Steem)

in #dlive5 years ago (edited)

Have to be honest, I'm not up to date with everything that has been happening around Steem, things change all the time. The people, the dApps, the culture .. everything is evolving constantly.

I was wondering why do I see only dTube, I didn't look for why dLive is no longer in the scene until recently. I remember them having a bigger vote than dtube and also not taking a cut when posting in their platform.

When I looked up @dlive account I read all the flagged posts, I decided to visit their platfrom and learn more about lino.network.. I then realized ... they made the right decision!

@dlive is now better than ever, everything about it is really smooth. When it was on Steem it didn't feel right completely, it didn't have a competitive edge beside the insanely high reward, but that was only from the Steemit delegations.
Now that they moved to Lino testnet blockchain I can see they are bigger than to be accommodated in Steem. They had @Pewdiepie the biggest YouTuber stream on their platform and they are doing really well. It seems that Steem was only a hindrance to their true potential.

Now is there a lesson to be learned? Steem should not be the best by criticizing people who leave it or by flagging competitors like when @ned flagged @dan for talking about EOS project or like when we the community went against @dlive and before that @dmania for leaving Steem.

Steemit needs to do radical updates to the blockchain to make their developers survive and thrive, what I see at the moment is the opposite. Community Developers are trying to keep the blockchain alive by fixing flaws or filling missing links in the system and to their credit they are doing a great job.

But there is a word I always hear about Steem: "it's not sustainable".
How do we make this platform sustainable? How do keep content creators thrive here? How do we get mass adoption?

Questions that have been asked and answered so many times, but actions only count.
