I suspect that she knew I didn't like her all over me as my brothers did so she doesn't run to climb my body.

Oh yes. They know absolutely all our feelings. What they are not able to interpret from your facial and body expressions, they can smell. Even the slightest fear they can scent.
So it's a very nice gesture of the little lady not to overwhelm you. She surely wouldn't do that if she didn't like you :-)

My dog Frieda does exactly the same behaviour whenever she meets shy and fearful dogs she likes.
