Would you consider Bitcoin a currency?

Currencies as we know it have a few properties:

relative stability (low volatility)
widely accepted as a means of exchange
store of value

At the moment Bitcoin is not accepted for everyday uses, the handling is laborious and the volatility is extreme.

Would you still consider it a currency?

Yes

No

This is an old word for a new concept

Those definitions or properties of a currency need to be updated, even Bible says old things pass away.

The first two properties are not a must for a currency. That must be so because many countries currencies are not accepted outside it borders and there are some currencies which are highly volatile (Venezuela and Iran).
