Greetings fellow Steemians, it has been quite a while since I last posted, the flu had me down for too long! I was also busy playing Starcraft badly on my nice new laptop. I have something special for you today, a true story about a special dog named Daisy, a mixed breed, possible greyhound, border collie and husky.
A Happy Ending for Daisy
Daisy arrived from an animal rescue near Calgary. She was a victim of terrible abuse with an illegal sled dog group. The owner was known to strike the dogs with a PVC pipe to keep them in order. Daisy spent her life outside on a chain and had severe PTSD. My friend Scott and his wife needed to get professional assistance to work with her.
Unfortunately, the day Daisy arrived, Scott received terrible news that his brother Tom had passed away suddenly. Scott was really not up for a dog at this time as he was also grieving the loss of his dog Maple. After about one month, Daisy approached Scott for a scratch, and when he stopped she pawed his leg for more, but at the same time cowering in fear. He said aloud "Oh, let me guess, we are going to help each other heal." Scott shared an emotional moment with Daisy and from that point onward they bonded for life. Daisy still has issues with PTSD, but has learned to love and be loved.
I began this drawing on April 3rd and spent a total of 23 hours on it finishing it today. I. I am working on an Ipad Pro with the Apple Pencil, using the app Procreate.

Down to the finishing touches!

@braveheart the fact that your back to the community definines your defeat of an unwell moment.
For the drawing, well done i should say because it does not only look impressive but also brings out your ability and talent evidently.

Thank you very much for your kind words. I am quite happy with the results, and the dogs owner was thrilled to see the drawing, that was enough reward for me!
poor dog, may he get his attention properly.
we do not have dogs, our dog environment is forbidden, we live in Muslim environment, but personally very like dog
They make very loyal friends.
that's what I love most about dogs, they are ready to protect us with their lives, I often watch movies where dogs take an important role in it
poor dog
The poor dog is now happy and loved!
Very lucky
This is lovely! You have so much talent, and I really admire you. So glad to know Daisy is well loved and cared for now. I'm sorry you were ill, and very happy to see you back posting. (((hugs)))
Thank you so much! I am always kind of ill, but that flu going around knocked me out. How are things going for you?
I'm hanging in there, thank you. The beautiful spring weather here has certainly lifted my spirits the past couple of weeks, and that definitely helps. Friends have been helping me with planting some flowers around the deck, and yesterday I planted some lettuce. My brother has been busy working in the yard, and I think it's going to look lovely this year! Thomas Cat is also enjoying the milder weather and has been out in the sheltered portion just outside the kitchen - he's only ventured out onto the deck a couple of times and only for a few minutes each time ... but it's a start. And I've managed to walk to the beach using my cane several times already! It feels to good to finally get outdoors and enjoy! :)
I always dreamed of a dog like "hachiko", a very faithful dog, but I've only seen the usual dogs in our surrounding farmers who used to hunt boars
