RE: Woven Prologue: Part 01 - An experiment in comics and story telling

in #drawing4 years ago

I’m still a stubborn fan of full page designs, but there is a big shift in this direction to tap the digital & mobile markets. It looks great and is perfectly formatted for WebToons and similar distribution. Are you posting there by any chance?

Funny you should mention webtoon!

Just started posting Woven on there since the 5th as a little trial as well.
So far the reception has been encouraging! As you said, I think it is mainly due to the fact that more and more webcomic readers are participating via their small personal devices

I am also still a true believer in the beauty and layout of a good comic page, but this has allowed me to appreciate facets that are unique to vertical scrolling. In particular, how the control of pacing via the reader's thumb swipes allows for much larger gaps for tension or ambience.

My partner and I decided we'll still continue making Woven in the 'classic' format, but since all the pages are assembled in photoshop layers, I can then rearrange and adapt them for the scroll format.
