HolyLand-Original Song

in #dsound6 years ago (edited)

A track I found on my hard drive that I wrote some time ago. In fact I am pretty sure that I wrote this using Propellerhead Reason version 3...
I named this one HolyLand I think because it is a "conversation" between East and West. Tambura,Tabla and Sitar start it off and then the Viola comes in later...
Peace

That's so amazing brother!! sounds India!! :) I liked that Sitar sound and you're playing it cool, great mix when the bass and tribal starts!! that was perfect!

Thanks man I love to play the sitar on the midi keyboard! I have a Roland on which the pitchbend wheel moves left to right instead of up and down and that really suits my hand for bending notes.
Peace

Nice. Reminds me of age of empires music :D

That was really cool! I'd like to know how you played those instruments. Did you use emulators, or the real things?

Thanks it was done using samples from the real instruments that I then played using a midi keyboard. I used a lever on the keyboard which can bend the pitch and that allowed me to get the sitar notes to sound the way they do. The tabla is a sampled loop.
Peace

Yeah, I was wondering about the pitch bending. The pitch wheel on a midi keyboard is probably really handy for that. I'm planning on getting a midi keyboard soon, gonna use some crypto to pay for it. :-)

Brother! :) thanks for always checking my works!! :) I think you must convert your openmic entries to mp3 or wav and uploading them on dsound and soundcloud! I am younger to say anything :)) but I hope you are a never give up man and you dont stop by one fall, you are better than must musicians!! I can't play guitar like you!! and you sing so perfect!! If there was anything that I can do tell me, I can also remake your tracks (together) but no rush, cause I also have some works in hand, but I will be glad to do some works with you brother!! @onetruebrother
peace to you!!
