After many years, yes YEARS... I finally decided to get off my chubby backside and try to do a Hackintosh on my now aging Dell XPS 8700 computer. I'm sure there are many of you out there better suited for doing this kind of stuff a better way, but hey... I tried it, succeeded, so I'm happy enough to say that if "I" can do it, then "YOU" can too! (assuming your hardware is suitable....)

Very fond memories of my days of Hackintosh, it's always good to get a build up and running but keeping it going can be such a pain and even when you have it running trying to find the kexts for every bit of hardware can be a trial. Looks like you did well though - up and running with minimal fuss. As you say the key thing is to have the most compatible hardware to do it with.
In my youth, I would have loved all the fault finding and sorting it out, but nowadays I'm jaded and just want things to work! Still, I have an image of the Hackintosh saved now, so if my main iMac decides to die on me, I can still work on OSX until I can sell a kidney to pay for a new iMac!
Nice! I've never tried that for fear of something not working. Plus, kinda needs sight to be able to do it, which I have very little.
