¿Nacer de nuevo? ¿Cómo se hace? || To be born again? How is it done?

Immediately when we are convicted of sin through the Holy Spirit and place our faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, confessing our sin, a new stage begins: the Holy Spirit dwells within us.

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19 And this is the condemnation: that the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil.

John 3:14-19

After understanding that being born again is necessary to be part of God's family, you probably want to know what to do to take the next step, or perhaps you want to explain to someone what being born again means. This passage in the Gospel of John summarizes and explains it very clearly.

Through this passage and many others, we understand that the new birth, which represents salvation, is not something we deserve. The Word of God speaks of salvation as being by faith and grace; only those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ can attain salvation. We can summarize it this way: "To be born again, you must put your faith in Jesus Christ." Believing in Jesus Christ means recognizing that He died for our sins and rose again so that we too might identify with His resurrection, believing that He is the Son of God and gave His life to save us.

From that moment on, the same Holy Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead begins to dwell within us, guiding us at every step of the Christian life. He reveals to us what the Word says, speaks to us, teaches us, inspires us, and little by little we are transformed by the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit within us.

37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

John 6:37

It is important that we also have this assurance: no matter what we have done or who we are in this life, when we come to God, when we pray and ask God, acknowledging Him as our Father through the salvation of Jesus Christ, God does not cast us out. He receives us with all that we are. This gives us the certainty that God receives everyone, that salvation is a gift for all who believe in Him. Understanding all this, we can come to Him at any time and place, and we can bring others to the knowledge of the truth so that they may attain salvation just as we have.

Inmediatamente cuando somos convencido del pecado por medio del espíritu Santo y ponemos nuestra fe en la muerte sepultura y resurrección de Jesucristo confesando nuestro pecado, se inicia una nueva etapa, el espíritu Santo habita en nosotros.

Y como Moisés levantó la serpiente en el desierto, así es necesario que el Hijo del Hombre sea levantado, 15 para que todo aquel que en él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna.
16 Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna. 17 Porque no envió Dios a su Hijo al mundo para condenar al mundo, sino para que el mundo sea salvo por él. 18 El que en él cree, no es condenado; pero el que no cree, ya ha sido condenado, porque no ha creído en el nombre del unigénito Hijo de Dios. 19 Y esta es la condenación: que la luz vino al mundo, y los hombres amaron más las tinieblas que la luz, porque sus obras eran malas.

Juan 3:14-19

Después de haber entendido que es necesario nuevo nacimiento para ser parte de la familia de Dios, seguramente quieres saber qué hacer para dar el siguiente paso, o quizás quieres explicar a alguien en qué consiste esto del nuevo nacimiento, este texto en el evangelio de Juan lo resume y lo explica de manera muy clara.

A través de este texto y muchos otros entendemos que el nuevo nacimiento que representa la salvación no es algo que merecemos, la palabra de Dios habla de la salvación es por fe y por gracia, solamente pueden alcanzar la salvación aquellos que creen en el señor Jesucristo. Podemos resumir lo de la siguiente manera: "para nacer de nuevo debes poner tu fe en Jesucristo", creer en Jesucristo es reconocer que él ha muerto por nuestro pecado y resucitó para que nosotros nos identifiquemos también su resurrección, que creamos que él es el hijo de Dios y entregó su vida para salvarnos.

A partir de ese momento el mismo espíritu Santo de Dios que levantó a Jesús de los muertos, comienza su habitación en nosotros guiándonos a cada paso de la vida cristiana, nos revela lo que la palabra dice, nos habla, nos enseña, nos inspira, poco a poco somos transformados por la palabra y el poder del espíritu Santo en nosotros.

37 Todo lo que el Padre me da, vendrá a mí; y al que a mí viene, no le echo fuera.

Juan 6:37

Es importante que también tengamos esta seguridad, sin importar lo que hayamos hecho o quienes somos en esta vida, cuando acudimos a Dios, cuando oramos y pedimos a Dios reconociendo como nuestro padre mediante la salvación de Jesucristo, Dios no nos echa fuera, nos recibe con todo lo que somos, esto nos da la certeza que Dios recibe a todos, que la salvación es un regalo para todo aquel que en él cree. Entendiendo todo esto podemos acudir a él en todo momento y lugar y podemos traer a otros al conocimiento de la verdad para que alcancen la salvación así como nosotros.
