In Africa since the the inception of education in this region it is believed that for an individual to do well in his or her school work he or she as to give maximum concentration to the books...

Based on enquiries so many students learn how to read write and remember stuffs said in class by their teachers for the purpose of examination and good grades but in the long run we all have been induced with the idea that EXAMS IS NOT A TRUE TEST OF KNOWLEDGE..

Then how about some extra curricular which help boost ones ideas about all aspects of life..,what has the school done about this expecially in Africa..

In the western world , sports have been one aspect of life that has been highly welcomed into schools as such give its peak of development in young individuals with much interest at a tender age...

Why do they do better in sports than others..,sports is incorporated in their colligiate curriculum making it a routine for pupils who have interest to participate with the hopes of representing their country in such an event someday...

This brings an early development and tuning of mind towards specific goals with regards to sports not forgetting their books..

Looking critically the way it is done in Nigeria , the influence of parents on field of practise, selection of carriers for their wards brings about an under development on the ends of sports were as painting sports men as unserious minded individuals...

With the quality and nature of talent nurtured under a crude method of academic pursuit Africans are still giving their best on both sides academics and sports...

The possible solution should be we the Africans welcoming sports into our academic schedules..

1.time tables can be scheduled where students can be involved in sports just like they are involved in their academic work

2.grades can also be given to students who take part to encourage them do better on and off the field

3.minor or school or inter colligiate competitions can be hosted to test their ability and give room for improvement

4.seminars can also be given to pupulils involved to let them understand sports has no effect on academic pursuit

5.coaches should all attend programmes to improve their coaching skills which would help give multivation to the few students who would be part of the team...

It has been a thing to border about because with the belief of parents and sponsors on the influence of sports on academic pursuit sports would soon be of extinct in Africa if the individuals involved retire as a result of age or injuries..

Academic managements have a role to play on this untamed issue if we must keep up the good work in sports and education...
