Life: The death and life

in #esteem6 years ago (edited)

Really don’t know what to say, when it comes to the real life. Sadness, happiness are part of our daily life. I will start with the death. What is that then?

Okay the story is like this ==>

In my village there is a belief that if one of us die, the death would follow to others and will stop until 3 of our residents die. That is true, I have paid really close attention to this fact, and it always goes that way as far as I remember. Recently, within 20 days 3 of our residents have passed away, starting from 21 days ago. 2 of them are my close relatives. So, what to do with that?, nothing, nothing at all that I can do about that and nothng to worry about lost and gain. What I believe is the death will come in one way or another. We will never know who will die tomorrow or the next second. The thing behind it is we all need to do what we have to do. Do I feel loose? Yes I do. But life must goes on and much more things to do to survive and get my life better.

Talking about life, it will be about steemit as well. I may be dead at any time on steemit as well as in my real life. Why do I say that way?, it is simply because of my devices to access onto the platform have had some troubles. I cannot blame anything out of it. Those devices have been used for several years now, I bought my laptop 8 years ago, and my phone was 6 years ago. It may be the time for them to rest in peace. My laptop currently could not be operated with battery attached in, but it works sometime by plugging it directly to the power source and another problem is appeared, the charger. Both my laptop charger and my phone charger are isolated by the seal tape. Last time I change the battery and the charger for my laptop was a year ago. I bought the original one (at least that was what the provider said to me), and now the battery is broken again!. But before it happen, the sudden off of the laptop caused the malfunction of some hardware inside. The power supply system on the laptop’s motherboard can be damaged due to the electricity supplies (maybe not). My laptop can be off (dead) at any time while I am using it.

What cost me from that problem?

It interrupts my works, and the most important thing is the article discussion on #arteem discord channel. Well, I have a specific discussion on the channel to lead as a mod and mentor, we discuss the weakness of the “pointed” articles, it has been 12 sessions this far. The objectives of this discussion are to improve the writing skill and communication ability of our members, to train the newbies how to interact with other user across the globe and mentoring them to create good original contents. It is the way to mitigate the plagiarism and spam on the platform. We do not tell, but we show them how to make and how to do it by themselves. Some members have shown the good outcome of this discussion. This channel was initiated by @aneukpineung78 and @rayfa. I am only a volunteer to lead the discussion channel named #diskusi-arteekel. We still need support from all of you to grow up, and if anyone of you like what we are doing you can show you support to @arteem.

Buying the new battery for my laptop is not easy at all at the moment, even it is a bit difficult to make daily needs. That is the second reason why I mostly away from steemit and sometimes just show ups to support some of you who have given me tremendous amount of support, the splendid love I felt along the journey came from all of you.

The prices for the battery and the charger of my laptop are about IDR 900,000 (about $60-65 USD). Wait, it is not asking your help or supports, but just telling you how the farmer like me from the different world is looking at life itself. Right, I am not as lucky as you are, but I survive till this far because I do what I can do to live my life as simple as possible.

67rcrfh8w7.jpg

The simple calculation for how many works I have to do to get only new battery and charger is told by the price of my squash. The price for this kind of squash I grow for meanwhile is IDR 1500 ($1/10 of USD). So it needs 600 squashes to replace my battery. One tree can produce 4 a week and I have 10 trees now producing that kind of squash. Then, it means I have 15 weeks to work on my farm to replace the battery. But, is the laptop most important thing in my life so that I could use all of my income to pay for it?. Looking at the minimum budget need for a day of my simple life is IDR 60,000 ($4-$5 USD). If I multiple it by 105 days (15 weeks) it will get IDR 6,300,000 ($420 USD), well, it is far than enough from the squash earning. That is why I need to put my laptop to the 3rd priority, does it make sense to you?.

But, those calculations are only from the squash. I do realize that I need to have something more, I started to grow the Cayenne pepper since a week ago, and it is still needed to wait for 2 months to get something from it. And the papaya is also on going, 750 papaya trees are on the ground now. Besides, I have another kind of squash to support my daily life, hopefully it will produce within the next 3 week. It seems all easy to do, but that is not that simple, a lot of hard works. The bugs and bacteria almost destroy my papaya plants, and the Macacas (monkeys) came and destroy 65 papaya trees and cocoa in my farm a week ago, that is sad news. Good news is those papaya trees are recovering and started to have a new shoot that I have hope will grow up well.

With my best regard

Hi there. Of course it makes sense to pay for the basic necessities before investing in a laptop...

Keep up with the good work. It's nice to see that some of us are actually producing food. In our Western Society, it seems that no one is doing that anymore. If there's a big crisis, we'll be screwed.

Hi @trincowski, of course we will need to make priorities on the things. Here, producing food is a must, it is to support ourselves to not spending too much resource as we dont have it that much to spend out. besides, farming thing is our way to the freedom of the basic needs, in case of global crisis.

My laptop has problems as well. It's only a matter of time before it dies and I can't really afford a new one right now. I'm hoping it lasts just a bit longer. Your squash look great. I hope you can sell some and get your computer fixed!

It is much more harder at your side, when you need to buy everything for living. here we still have some thing to eat without buying it from the market @derekrichardson. keep moving forward my friend

Hope that you can cope with all this problem @el-nailul, problem need to be solved and it will take us to another level 😟 right? So sorry to hear about the news.. you should have taught that "Bu Krek" to stay away from your farm, I can feel you, the goats did the same thing to my cassavas but goats is managed while macaques?

Braat that hudep lawet nyou yaa, mudah2an na cara dan kemudahan geubri le Po teuh Allah, aamiin.

Brat lawet nyoe...tapi memang haruis ta sikapi dengan bijak....payah pike cara hansep ngon duek preh bak meja lee nyoe hinoe kak @cicisaja

That's tough - the calculations we make all the time to pay for the things we need! At the moment, the 'bad things come in threes' rule (we also have this here) is about our cars, which we need to do what we need to do. Sometimes I think it'd be much easier if we didn't have technology at all, and then we wouldn't have to worry about earning money to pay for them! Good luck in getting some cash together for what you need xxx

Thank you @riverflows, let do what we can do as maximum as possible. the rhythm is needed in life for better understanding of ourselves and gain more experiences and skills. hope you will get the solution for the car. I just have a motor bike for works but it already need to do major repair (the piston rings need to be changed). But yes, life is about to move forward for every second we have

Things will fall into place
They always do :)

So sad to hear this, especially about laptop that have been with us in article discussion at @arteem server. I am very happy to see the development of arteemian friends. I wish I have a lot of steem and sbd. keep the spirit, Roy @el-nailul, keep hoping for the best and preparing for the worst as always

Sure I will, as long as I can online, I will do what I can to help more friend there kak @rayfa. Let's keep our spirit to increase the capacity of our #arteem member.

Great post with lots of info. I have had my laptop for many years.
One thing I found is never let the battery run completely down. I do not know if that is possible for you but it helps keep from getting a new one. That is after you get your next new battery.

#steemitbloggers

yes, the battery should remain 15% before we plug it to the power source that is the ideal thing to increase the live of it @rebeccabe. but something getting electricity is real problem in my place. It wont be a short time to get new battery LOL. that is not a big deal at all, the first priority is basic needs

I say plug in way before 15% ...
anyway, you are right basic needs first

Thank you very much @appreciator. I really appreciate your support

Hopefully this upvote will go someway to buying a charger

Thank you very much @blanchy, I really appreciate your support. every one of us has problem , nothing to worry about that. we just need to move forward by doing what we can possibly do to solve it

@el-nailul your todays choice in #steemitbloggers and that Why I visited you blog today. I lived the long story but after today with the bad news the story that after death 3 others Will follow I feel sad. I hope its a saga.
Keep steeming
Love Britt

Thank you @brittandjosie, it is real, but the picture about the death is from last month when my uncle passed away. 22 days ago one of our resident passed away, 5 days later my Grand Mother, and the last was my cousin, he passed away 3 days ago.

But nothing we can do about that....much love from Aceh Britt

Do what you need to do to survive mate, if you are still able to get by with what you have now (in terms of posting on steemit) then do it. Hopefully you can withdraw some of the steem you have earned and convert that in to money to buy the battery but like you say, prioritise and do what you need to do :)

Sure, all of us need to do what need to be done, otherwise we will never achieve our goals. thank you very much for your support, steemit is a lot fun for me. I hope i can get something out of it some day @nickyhavey. thank for stopping by my blog

Hopefully, you can post ever so often to Steem and use that money to buy what you need to keep on posting.

Dang monkeys. That is so frustrating when you plant and work and then, the wildlife gets it all. right now, I have crows eating all my pecans - but I am lucky and don't have to rely on them for my food supply. Wishing you all the best!!

#steemitbloggers

Hi mariannewest, sure I will post when I have time to write something. For the monkey I used the fishing net for fence, so the monkey will stuck on the net and give me some time to chase out using my air rifle (not to kill it). thank you for your support

I hope it works for you and you get the monkeys out of your crops and a way to keep blogging. Hopefully, Steem will go up again and help you to cover your living expenses.

In which country is your farm? You'll do it! What about planting beans or berries for sale? Maybe potatoes or yuca? Those plants don't need much attention.

I am in Aceh, province of Indonesia. electronic things is a bit expensive here compare to what we sell. beans is okay to grow, and I did it few months ago, but potatoes and berries are not suitable here because the temperature is too hot. I am planting papaya, and some cayenne and squash while waiting the papaya to produce. Where dyou live @route-m-d?

We're living now in Costa Rica, but originally we're from Poland. I thought potatoes would grow everywhere, because they came from Peru, where is quite hot climate. Can you do sth else except agriculture to gain income? Like online jobs, mean video editing or sth like that? Just to work remotely? I know your laptop is about to die, but before maybe you could do sth? :)

We have potatoes in Gayo Highland about 150 km from my place. the temperature there is about 15-25 degree, they produce it there to supply the whole Aceh territory. I am learning video editing program, dyou know filemora?, just download it 2 days ago for editing my video. But surely that is not for commercial purpose, only for posting on block chain. But, sometime I do documents translation manually.

No, I don't know it. Only one I used to use is Adobe premiere elements. Yeah, maybe start a video blog on dtube? I know people travel like that and make quite good income from votes from dtube. That's an idea. You will need just a mobile phone to film and that's it.

Great post!
I have heard the superstition that deaths come in threes also. It DOES seem to be true, but I dont know if it actually has any merit, or do we just begin looking for two more deaths when one happens? Not sure.

Your garden looks lovely! Good luck in growing your produce! Hopefully you can earn the funds you need to replace your battery!

It is the real one at least as long as I remember living in this village for 30 years, it always happen that way, we get used to it, so in our village, that thing is a normal @squishysquid, Thank you very much for stopping by my blog. I hope you have a great day my friend

The sorrow does not come to anyone, but to the strongest. I say your name in every prayer I do. The storm will surely pass. Keep spirit ya bang @el-nailul. We need you in @arteem discord channel.
