Malang: A total of 31 suspected terrorists linked to a bomb blast in Surabaya, East Java, were arrested. Four of them were killed.
"I hope not to be caught too much," said East Java Police Chief Irjen Machfud Arifin at the inauguration of e-Policing at Polres Malang, East Java, Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
Machfud confirmed, it will not give a loophole for terrorists to return to action. Police will continue to attempt to capture suspected terrorists across Indonesia.
"All areas in East Java are now uncomfortable for terrorists, because they are all being pursued," he said.
After the bomb blast occurred in three churches in the Surabaya area some time ago, the police immediately moved. Some suspected terrorists have been arrested.
"If there are already strong indications of terrorist acts, the groups will be pursued," he said.
Kapolda admitted, the business of capturing terrorists is the task of Special Detachment 88 Antiteror. But the police also facilitated Densus 88, one of them by providing places of detention.
"We help facilitate a place that is considered feasible and suitable for the detention we will give," he concluded.
