I think it is good that we went "down to 43" or whatever - Steem was overvalued when it was in the top 10. It is a fantastic platform with many great things and one of the greatest communities in blockchain - yet, it is not quite ready for the "big time" yet in my opinion. It is more of an awkward teenager... here's hoping you are right that in a few years the whole thing will mature.

You're right on this one. It gave everybody time to rethink and re position within steem. We saw a lot of steem move around and a much wider distribution of sp since the price drop.
Apart from that it gave the developers a kick up the arse to improve the system and make it easier to work on. Since then we can now on board users faster, run the chain cheaper and create tokens for any project. All big wins. We still aren't ready for huge numbers but things are being moved into place for when the time comes.
