Ethereum VS EOS

in #ethereum7 years ago

The battle for the best smart contract crypto currency begins, with Ethereum vs EOS. EOS has been called an Ethereum killer, with ability to handle massive numbers of transactions, process payments differently and have tools to help developers create decentralized apps (DAPPS). But can it really defeat Ethereum? Find out in this video

I'm sorry, but EOS will NEVER be as valuable as Ethereum. The community is what makes these currencies valuable not some small tech improvements. Look at Pivx, it has better features than Dash, was made by the same creators, yet is a fraction of the value.

too much of the same thing is bad, but eos has a different interaction method, so might be something interesting.

I must agree with you.
Also I keep an eye on IOTA.

This might also be a game changer just like EOS is

Yes. It is the community.
And it is very linked with the time... dash was created years before pivx.
Dash could be better than bitcoin, but bitcoin is older.
There are many many cryptocurrencies, it is difficult to select one... then all of them need more time to enter in the community.

Yet again a very interesting post Michael, many thanks! I find it very interesting that the ICO runs on Ethereum. I can't remember where I read this but there was someone saying that this all fits in the "taking over Ethereum" plan, i.e. if they keep receiving 15,000 ethers every 23hrs they will end up with enough Ethers to send the price down big time when the EOS platform goes live. Now I'm not a conspiracy theorists by any stretch of the imagination but I'd have to agree that this is a concerning thought from an Ethereal perspective.

GO EOS ! :D #hodl

Love the photo. So much banter around this topic. Keen to see the showdown next year!

Thank you for all your video, I am learned a lot from you, you are among the best cryptobloggers that I like, good luck for you, both coins are good ! I love every crypto created ☺

Great video @boxmining, quite informative especially for Cryto newbies like myself.
Much appreciated, keep on doing the good work.

The amount of affiliate links, in my opinion, lessens the value of the post. It makes me feel that the only reason you're here is just to make money, which maybe it is, but just my opinion (which I know you didn't want to know) :) But great content as always, sir!

I believe Ethereum and EOS will target different markets. EOS will essentially be a mass market product with apps in the future to replace FB and YouTube. This is already seen by Steemit and the upcoming view.ly. Ethereum will be used in business especially in finance. So there is room for both EOS and Ethereum as they will occupy different markets.

Awesome video. I think EOS will be valuable in the future and look forward to seeing how this ultimately plays out.

I understand that EOS is built on ethereum. How is that an ethereum killer?

only the smart contract that issues EOS tokens in the year long "ICO" is built on Ethereum

EOS is not built on ethereum. They offered their ICO and host their tokens on the Ethereum blockchain as placeholders. Then, for every token you have on the ETH blockchain, they'll give you one EOS token when the final blockchain is released.

Boxmining, I really appreciate your short and to the point videos. Many other guys just keep rumbling for hours, getting off topic, and loosing train of thought all to frequently. For busy people, your concise format is just perfect! Thanks so much for top quality and unbiased channel!

Ah, forgot to add that many of the advantages of EOS will indeed disappear once Ethereum progresses. And Ethereum has so much momentum, industry support, and it is in my opinion many years ahead of EOS. So, it'll be extremely difficult for EOS to catch up.
Cheers

Interesting video.
EOS on my watch list.

excellent

thanks!

so eos is paperworth now, how many peoples are working on eos. is it dan only?

I really like EOS but I think their ICO scheme is not truthworthy.. 1 year? Really?

Also, I dont like that the price is not moving.

EOS tokens are not an ICO actually. The EOS project was fully funded over a hundred million dollars by investors before the token sale was launched. Just saying.

yes, it never made any sense to me.... Why introduce the token if the project is fully funded? They never explained exactly why they do the sale.

Well the key here is what will an EOS token do once the platform opens. That's the purpose of the token . I guess.

I also feel that by the time EOS finally comes out Ethereum would have reached feature parity if not be farther along than EOS.

Do you think that Ethereum will have gained so much advantage in a year from now that EOS has no chance anymore?

i think so

It's quite hard to predict that, development might be slow, but the primary technical limitation on ETH is the low tx/s. It's hard to fix that. Even if Ethereum has more features than EOS does by next year, there is a hardcap on how much Ethereum can handle, and since it's easier to copy features than to innovate, EOS can easily copy ETH and add a few extra things in and have a much better technical basis. So while it seems possible that in the short run that ETH will exceed EOS, EOS just has a superior technical base.

Furthermore, the CTO of EOS also took part in the development of STEEM and Bitshares, so you can be very sure that Vitalik Butterin's genius is at least matched.

Thanks for summing up the differences and the conflict. I only heard part of it so it was nice to get an overview. Your interview with the guy from BTCC was pretty interesting as well. Keep up the good work.

Oh and on the topic: Ofc I got high hopes for EOS but if it is hackable on a coding level it would lose one of the biggest advantages crypto has.

Does "On a protocol level" mean that the blockchain itself is corruptable? I am not that familiar with EOS

Interesting post. Following and upvoted. :)

Two innovative currencies from two intelligent young minds.

Great video and happy to see that ethereum broke out of triangle as well according to technical analysis that i also posted on my profile..
ENJOY PROFITS.....
