I think it's disingenuous to say ETC is built solely on malicious acts. I do liken it to a pump and dump but it certainly has principles behind it: supporting immutability and decentralization. That said, I am in favor of one chain to rule them all and hope ETH wins, it was clearly the pragmatic solution, and this early in ETH history I think a hard fork is fine.
