European shares rose on Friday morning at the latest week's highs in four weeks, supported by strong earnings for the commodities sector after strong data in China, the world's largest consumer of metals and commodities, and the DAX continued to record new highs for a second straight session.
The Dow Jones Stoxx Europe 600 rose 0.2% by 10:55 GMT, its highest level since June, and ended yesterday's session by 0.1%, as Spain's shares recovered as political tensions over the Catalonia region eased.
Mining and commodity companies rose 1.5% to become the biggest gainers on the Stoxx Europe 600 Index during morning trade. ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steelmaker, rose 3% after data showed imports rose to China in September. .
Stoxx Europe is heading for its fifth consecutive weekly gain as investors remain optimistic about the euro zone's economic recovery and major companies are making positive profits in the third quarter.
S & P 500 futures rose 0.1%. The index ended yesterday's session down 0.2%, on correction and profit taking, after hitting a record high of 2,555.33 points earlier in the session.
In London, the CAC 40 index rose 0.1%. In London, the FTSE 100 was down 0.2% on the back of falling export stocks affected by the rise of the local currency pound against a basket of global currencies.
In Germany, the DAX added 0.1 percent, extending its gains for the second session in a row, hitting a new record of 13,003.14 points, after strong data on the German economy, the largest economy in the euro area, and optimistic that companies will continue to achieve strong profits this year.
