Of Singleplayers and Low Speed [1/?]

in #fallout45 years ago (edited)

Since everyone is forced to stay at home, here in Italy we experience downtimes or moments of extremely low internet speed. To counter the risk of being isolated and not being able to play, I downloaded at the start of the crisis a couple of games playable without connection but since in certain periods of the day and week those problems are more frequent, I've decided to download some more.
So, just to play safe and don't think about the pandemic, why not playing... Fallout 4?.. we'll talk about my skills making bad combinations another time.

Now the fun part: the download was 31 GBs and I was downloading at the whopping speed of 1 MB/s; so I've tried to reboot the PC, the modem and praying dark web's gods but it took anyway almost the entirety of the afternoon. yey.

Finally, I was sitting on my comfy gaming chair (not sponsored, especially because I didn't write the brand and doubt they would ever read this anyway) and decided to browse the mod section to find something to improve my experience since I've already completed the game several times and really needed something new.
I'm not a huge fan of modding and stuff, I just wanted something new to tinker with so I've browsed looking for mods that add weapons and crafting. I've ended with:
-Ammo Crafting Workbench my favourite, it does so "little" but improves so much the experience. The ammo crafting was something shouldn't have been removed, especially in favour of that money-grabbing, tiresome mechanism
- Standalone Construction Power Armor the armor looks quite cool and I like F76 mining armor
- Weapon Overhaul v2.00 because of the aforementioned need of new weapons to shoot shoot
- Legendary Crafting Framework since I've always thought the legendary mechanic was good but could've been improved like making the Legendary a weapon mod you can remove and apply to others.

As always I take a couple of minutes to enjoy those little pre-apocalypse family moments, with a working TV, a non-cockroach infested house, a comfy couch and nothing that wants straight away to kill me, until the nuclear missiles of course.

An idyllic moment of peace. Coffee, TV and intact walls

While the start is quite boring, after the "tutorial" area I'm free to do what I want and I decide to spend some time to the bench in order to see what's new and what are my new goals.
And oh boi.

That's.. that's a lot of stuff

Surely something I really enjoy, since the ages of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat upgrading the equipment has been always a huge trap for my attention and sometimes I felt to have too few options in Fallout 4 so this is indeed bread for my teeth.

Since there is a lot to farm, I continued my little adventure. Picked up Dogmeat, unlocked Abernathy Farm (has a relatively stable influx of fertilizing, used to craft ammo) aaaand the Power Armor. In which I basically live and my build is usually around that ahaha

Don't make the talking Power Armor upset

This was the most boring part I guess of the gameplay(?) so hopefully the future adventure reports will be more exciting and interesting.
Let me know what you think in the comments!
