ENJOYING OUR VOLUNTEER GARDEN PLANTS WITH MONSTER TRUCK THE PEPPER

in #family7 years ago

I've got to tell you, I really like this boy!

It seems that a good deal of @papa-pepper has rubbed off on Monster Truck. Lately we wind up in the "Jungle Garden" pretty often and talk about life as we forage and snack. A lot of goals that I have and the realizations that I have have come too have been pouring off of his little lips lately.

While snacking on some volunteer ground cherries the other day, Monster Truck commented about planting food like that everywhere on the land so that you could always get a snack when you wanted one. Folks, this is the dream that I have! The little man is understanding the blessing of living life this way.

There are so many tasty foods that we can grow if we only put forth the effort and have the space to grow them. Since we recently bought our land, we will be having the space to grow them. Plus, we will have all sorts of little helpers to help get the job done!

When I am working around the land, often this four year old is at my side. All of the skills that I am just now learning at 36, he is getting exposed to 32 years earlier than me. I am sure that these things will come in handy for him later, and that he will be a big help to me and others.

Though the @little-peppers are not huge fans of regular tomatoes, they do enjoy the little ones. Thankfully, a few cherry tomato plants sprouted up from seeds from last year's harvest. Sure, they are in much more random spots than they would be if we had planted them, but the taste is just as good!

The pole beans came up on their own too, so we have haphazard, tangled messes of beans in random places. Even without some Ranch Dressing to go with them, we enjoy eating them raw. It blesses us to see our @little-peppers eating healthy and enjoying it!

The passion fruit have become a favorite of our little man. He asks us daily if he can go in the garden to try to find a ripe one.

It is a little tricky sometimes to get a ripe one like this, but they are so tasty when you do get one that is fully ready.

The photos in this post are all of food that @papa-pepper and Monster Truck the Pepper harvested from our "garden." Moreover, we did not plant any of these this year. Basically, they volunteered to grow and produce for us, so enjoyed snacking on them after a hard day of work.

As always he's Monster Truck the Pepper, and here's the proof:

They were all very tasty too!

Great job Monster Truck the Pepper! That's how Grandpa does it to, eating them directly off the plant. We love you.

We love you too Grandpa! We will see you soon!

Happy to be able to enjoy the harvest on your own garden. And we can taste it whenever we like. Interesting post and a very remarkable idea @ pap-pepper. Thank you for sharing papa

Thank you for checking it out!

Monster Truck the Pepper rocks!

And he has really cool shades ;-)

Really cool shades!

It looks like Papa-pepper is rubbing off on monster truck -pepper. I am working on doing a garden at the preschool I work at. Teach them early while there are people around who can still teach them.

Excellent idea! Now is the time!

Darling Post! I remember when my son now 5'10" was "monster truck" crazy. Congratulations on the property, If I remember right 8 acres of freedom!
We are in Florida and have two and twenty used for homestead and livestock. It is a blast but the work never ends, saw you clearing ...now comes the fencing. Be careful not to use your feet as a lever building fence. Just got out of a wheel chair after two months helping the hubby mending fence.
Love and Peace,
Melissa

Ouch! We will remember that!
