Lucas Hernandez is a five years old endangered missing child. He was last seen around 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 17, 2018. Lucas was in his bedroom at his home located in the 600 block of South Edgemoor Streetin. Wichita, Kansas Lucas’ father was supposedly out of town. The father's girlfriend, Emily Glass, 26, was taking care of Lucas and his 1 year old baby sister. Emily Glass claims that they had taken a nap around 3:00 P.M. When she woke, she stated that Lucas was gone. She further stated that it was very uncharacteristic for Lucas to wander far from home. She called police to say the Lucas had disappeared from their home.

After the disappearance of Lucas, family members told Wichita media outlets that they were concerned Lucas was being abused and had reported the possible abuse to the Kansas Department of Children and Families last year.

Stepmom of missing 5-year-old Lucas Hernandez criminally charged
Emily Glass – the stepmother of missing Wichita 5-year-old Lucas Hernandez – was criminally charged Monday with endangering a child.
Glass, 26, was quiet as the judge announced the charge in Sedgwick County District Court and told her that her bond would remain at $50,000. Glass, who appeared via video feed from a room in the Sedgwick County Jail, said she wanted to hire her own attorney to represent her rather than applying for a court-appointed one.
The charge is related to the alleged endangerment of a 1-year-old child, according to court documents. There was no mention of Lucas during Glass’ court hearing.
The search for him was in its ninth day Monday. Police said officers were out combing through Cottonwood Park – the fourth park to draw their attention – on Monday afternoon. That’s a 21-acre nature park off of a bike path near Harry and the Turnpike in southeast Wichita. Members of the public have formed their own search parties to look for the boy.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has deployed its Child Action Rapid Deployment team to assist in the search, and the Wichita Police Department has activated its Emergency Operation Command Center.
Lucas has brown hair and brown eyes, weighs 60 pounds and is four feet tall. He was last known to be wearing black sweats, white socks and a gray shirt with a bear on it. He's a Pre-K student at Beech Elementary School.
Officer Charley Davidson with the Wichita Police Department said Tuesday morning that about 100 law enforcement officials are helping in the search for Lucas.
"We are going to be there as long as it takes," Officer Davidson said. "Right now, our concern is to find Lucas."
Since the weekend, teams have searched Chisholm Creek Park, Dr Glen Day Park, Harrison Park and the boy's neighborhood. Authorities are planning more searches, but Davidson did not say where.
Although people want to start search parties, Davidson said the department has adequate resources to search. He said the best thing people can do is submit tips by calling (316) 383-4661.

Lucas' great-aunt Sally Rasmussen, who lives in New Mexico, told ABC News that she saw marks on the boy's arms and on his cheek in a photo she saw of him last May.
Rasmussen, who said she's worked with at-risk youth before, said she is familiar with the possible signs of abuse and reported the marks to Kansas Child Protective Services.
Rasmussen said relatives grew more concerned when Lucas and his father, Johnathan Hernandez, visited New Mexico in November. She said they told her they saw more signs of abuse and reported them to authorities in New Mexico.
However, Rasmussen does not believe Lucas' father hurt his son.
"He loves his son dearly!" Rasmussen wrote in a Facebook message to ABC News.
She added that she believes Hernandez, who often travels out of state for work, was out of town working when Lucas disappeared. According to police, Lucas' stepmother told investigators she last saw him in his bedroom just before she took a shower and fell asleep. Police were called to the home about three hours later.
The New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department told ABC News that its cases are confidential and did not confirm whether it has an open case involving Lucas.
The Kansas Department for Children and Families, of which Child Protective Services is a part, said it couldn't share any information on its cases either but expressed worry for Lucas.
"We share the public's concern regarding Lucas Hernandez," Theresa Freed, communications director for Kansas DCF, said in a statement to ABC News. "In the event the agency has information, we will share it with law enforcement, assisting them as requested."
Wichita police confirmed in a media briefing Monday that they have had contact with the family before, but did not elaborate on the nature of that contact.
Authorities said they have as many as 100 officers working the case and have searched the Hernandez home as well as Wichita's Chisholm Trail Park, Grove Park and Harrison Park using horses, dogs and drones, but have found no sign of Lucas.

Are you in Wichita, Kansas? If so maybe you can see if you can find someone that is with cps that can get access to cps records on Lucas Hernandez? Something is fishy about this whole situation. Instinct tells me Lucas' great-aunt Sally Rasmussen that reported this case may be involved or possibly another family member. For someone to just walk in and the home while the girlfriend was sleeping seems a bit to easy. Thanks for the resteem my friend. This whole case is very upsetting to me and if this poor kid is still alive, he must be totally frantic!

As of yesterday when I checked, he still hadn't been found. It has turned into a nation wide search. That is why I posted this in hopes that our steemit community would get a bit more involved in the search. He could be anywhere in the world right now, if he is still alive.

I pray this child is found and the truth about the abuse isn’t brought to life. I couldn’t imagine one of my children being stolen/missing. It just breaks my heart. I don’t understand how people can do such things. So heart wrenching.

Why does the world have to be this way. He could be kidnapped for sex trafficking or dead. He could be being used in mind re control by the government.
