Wooden seedbed at home.

in #farms6 years ago

For many farmers, starting the cultivation in seedbeds is the starting point for a future harvest. For direct sowing of these crops, there are unfavorable conditions, such as, for example, the very small seed crops and slow-growing seed crops: these they are attacked by insect pests and diseases in their first phase of life.

Nowadays there is a great variety of seedbeds and containers designed for crops. On the other hand, we can also build seedbeds with wood and adapt it to our needs, and best of all, we can reuse them for many years.

Precisely speaking of seedbeds in wood, I would like to share with you the following. Recently I moved to a new house, at the entrance there is a nursery seedbeds of wood. There are papaya, aji, peppers and parchita plants, as well as some avocado seeds.

This seedbed is frequently fertilized with organic waste, such as: egg shells and vegetable husks (avocado, cucumber, potato, carrot, etc.). Organic waste has been used for a long time because it increases the fertility of the soil, in addition to improving its characteristics in favor of the correct development of crops. At present, its use is of great importance, since they have proven to be effective in increasing yields and improving the quality of products.

Making a seedbeds is really easy, we just have to go step by step. Remember that in order to produce high quality plants and obtain good harvests it is very important that the crops receive the necessary care and attention, among them we have:

  • Remove weeds.
  • Locate the nursery in a bright and warm place.
  • Your watering.
  • Avoid puddles and excess water.
