Yes, for army reasons I was not very fond of Oudtshoorn but we will visit soon, as Marian's sister are now living there.
Been back to the camp a couple of years ago, but the place was so dishevelled that we didn't even enter the main gates. Imagine an army guard walking around with a part of his shirt hanging out.
In my day it would have been high treason.

What military? Much like everything else in looking after cadre where no pride is in place, heck couple of years ago tanks were stolen out of the barracks... say no more!
Oudtshoorn and smaller dorps are also battling along where municipalities are no longer working, many the people in the towns take on the chores and upkeep due to still having an ounce of a thingy called pride!
Oh yes, the army's reputation has gone where everything else has gone, Down the drain.
I douby that we can defend ourselves against an attack by Zimbabwe of all places.
About the municipalities say no more, as I will counter with, what are municipalities?
Entities where one can get employment and free money for doing nothing.
I am now lodginng a complaint and will put an article in the local paper with photos about their lacksadailical cleaning of the sidewalk outside our complex.
Just spoke to the ward councelor and let's see what happens.
