KATHARSIS (Recap/ Conclusion)

I want to thank everyone who has followed me this far through Katharsis, the serial novella I've been posting for the last few weeks. The support has been inspiring, and it has really encouraged me to take Steemit seriously as a way to both write my creative works and to distribute them. With that being said, I will not be continuing the Katharsis novel any further in its present form. I have over-extended my reach, writing too far without a firm foundation of plot, and if I were to continue I am certain that I would end up writing aimlessly, straying further and further from the story that I set out to tell. This is not to say that I have given up, but I need to accept that this draft is not the final one. I cannot expect the Steem community to stick with me on a project that I myself cannot feel fully enthusiastic about.

The exercise has not been in vain, however, because I've realized that the middle section of what I wrote can be extracted to form a coherent and meaningful short story, which I will title "Buddy." I plan to publish a book of short stories through Amazon.com before the end of the year, so this story "Buddy" will help me round out that book. It pains me to halt work on the novel, but I'm glad to be ripping off the bandaid, so to speak, and I'm excited for the opportunity to shift focus and bring you different content that I'm more confident about right now.

Anyway, thank you all for your support, sorry to anyone that was hanging around for the ending, and if you're reading this then please stay tuned for more stories in the future, as well as a new draft of Katharsis as soon as I can catch the inspiration.
