The burial was the best in town; the Falekan's had their mother's burial in style. It was the talk of town from the lavish spending and the great musicians they came to entertain, to the surplus food and expensive souvenirs they shared. "Even Mrs Falekan would be proud of her children" Chief Coker said to Dayo after the burial. Aminat's Father also came for the wedding and he met Dayo. Aminat took excuse from Dayo that she wants to go to Minna, Niger state to see her family who she hasn't seen for a while. Dayo agreed and wanted to follow but Aminat disagreed. So Dayo stayed back in Lagos. One day he received a call from James to see him at a bar. On getting to the bar, he saw James and Teniola, He was glad to see Teniola again although she didn't come for the burial. They talked and laughed, they talked about everything they have gone through and a lot more. Three hours later, they planned leaving. When they got out, James remembered he forgot his key on the table and rushed to take it. Dayo and Teniola were standing close to each other holding hands when a blue Peugeot parked, the tinted glass wind down, Teniola grabbed her hands from Dayo fearfully. The man in dark glasses in the car frowned and shouted "Get in the car, harlot" Teniola rushed in fear into the car, the man then faced Dayo and told him "I have my eyes on you". Dayo was surprised, the car zoomed off and James came immediately. "That's her husband" James whispered to Dayo who was still standing confused.
Dayo didn't understand what happened, he called Teniola's number and she didn't answer. He checked her at her place of work and she wasn't available on seat for four days. She called that she is sick and won't be available at work for a while. Dayo left for Port Harcourt with a heavy heart. What's wrong with Teniola? He called James who had left for Kwara state to know about Teniola, James couldn't offer much about Teniola, but he warned Dayo to stay off Teniola. A week later, Dayo decided he was going to get to the end of the matter; he lied to Aminat and the office that he has an emergency family meeting in Lagos. Dayo left for Lagos a month after his mother's burial. He found his way to Teniola's hotel and found her in her office.
"Look who i have here?" Teniola on dark glasses smiled and made her way to hug Dayo. She hugged him. Dayo was glad to see her but not on dark glasses again. He removed the glasses and this time the bruises were much, not only on her face but body. Dayo sits her down on the sofa in her office and asked her about everything and that she shouldn't lie to him. Teniola in tears started "Three months to the end of my youth service in Osun, Oladipo insists he meets my parents. Five months after my youth service, i got married to Oladipo Albert legally. I wanted to manage a hotel which has always been my dream but Oladipo doesn't want cause he believes it's a way of doing prostitution. I tried my best to convince him, Oladipo agreed to let me do it. But he doesn't want me to come home late; he doesn't want to see me around any guy. He came to the hotel one day and i went into a client's room that had a complaint. The client was a male and he was in towel, i came out of the room and i saw Oladipo standing right in front of the door. He told me to meet him at home, i met him at home" she cried bitterly and continued “Then he raped me and beat the hell out of me. Since then it has been beating upon beating. He beats me like a punching bag. I wanted to report to his bosses, but it would cost him his job and he is father of my two children" When Dayo heard she has had two children he was shocked, he tried consoling her "I am so sorry, Teni" "I wanted to come for your mother's burial, i told him earlier and he didn't say anything, i dressed up for the program, he saw me and said i wasn't going for a burial but was going to see my concubines, he beat me up and raped me. He tore my clothes and i couldn't come" she looked pitiful, Dayo wanted her to stop but she continued "The day i was holding your hands and he came, he started beating me from the vehicle. He tore my clothes inside the car with slaps and punches." They were quiet only for Teniola's sobbing. Dayo asked "So what do you plan doing?” Teniola cleaned her eyes with handkerchief Dayo offered her and replied "I am quitting my job, if it's that making him mad"
Dayo was surprised "Quit your job? What about quitting the marriage?"
"It’s for better for worse, for poorer for richer till death do us part"
"Are you mad? Till he kills you, then your eyes will be wide open"
"Dayo, then i know i have fought the goof fight"
Dayo was surprised, he never knew when Teniola would take that nonsense, "Moreover" Teniola continued "I am doing this for my children" Dayo knew Teniola needed help. As he moved back to the airport, he thought of what he could do, should he sue Oladipo to court for mistreatment of wife. Even if he does, strong heartened Teniola wouldn't testify against her husband. There's one thing he can do, if he stands with Teniola through this, she can have a change of heart, divorce her husband and come back to him, she deserves someone better than that scum. He then thought of Aminat "She would move on with life" He thought aloud. So he picked up his phone and called Chief Coker that he would like to be transferred to Lagos because he feels he is far away from home. Chief Coker guessed if he wanted to be around his family as his elder brother Adeleye and Adedolapo has been transferred to Lagos in their different companies. Chief Coker told him that there is an office opened in headquarters but it’s an office lesser than his current office and it's the deputy head of the marketing department. And there are chances he would be become the next Head of the department as the current head is looking towards retirement. Dayo was happy; he told Aminat that he wants to be around home, Aminat implored him to work her Transfer with him to Lagos. Dayo convinced her it would be good if he stayed in Lagos and she in Port Harcourt. It would be good for their marriage and one of them might not need to tender any resignation letter. Aminat didn’t agree fully but she wanted him to do what exactly was on his mind. The department gave Dayo a send-off he won't forget. Dayo left for Lagos with Aminat despite him trying to convince her to stay, she spent a week with him and helped him arrange the new apartment he just bought. She gave him a selection headache, but as soon as Aminat left, Dayo had no problems. He met an old secondary school mate named Osueke Philip who happens to be the Deputy Head of the Maintenance unit and also Oluwamuyiwa Coker the General Manager who is a son to Chief Coker and a former classmate to both Dayo and Philip. They hang out and have fun occasionally, there was a time he saw Teniola's husband Oladipo Albert with Strippers in one of the clubs he and the friends went to. He was hurt; he wished he had never made that error. Teniola could be his now. He called Teniola and let her know that he has been transferred to Lagos; Teniola was glad and happy for him. And Dayo asked if they could go out. Teniola laughed and told him she doesn't know when such could happen! Dayo talked to Philip and Muyiwa about Teniola's matter and they both advised him to mind his business as the victim isn't complaining and will be willing to stand to support her husband in the court of law.
Then one night around 10pm, Dayo dropped Philip in front of his house and was on his way to drop Muyiwa when he received a call from Teniola, crying and running, she begged him to come and help her at the address she was going to send to him. Dayo and Muyiwa were both scared and Muyiwa encouraged him to speed well because her voice on the phone doesn't sound so good. They got to where she was and they both pitied her, she has been beaten like she is about to be crucified. She looked helpless, her clothes were torn, she got into the car and she was taken to a clinic where she was treated, several plans to have her husband arrested by the doctor in charge failed as she refused to admit that she was beaten by her husband. Teniola was discharged four days later. She refused to follow Dayo to his house, rather she asked to be dropped in the Junction of her house so she can board a cab home and avoid another problem at home. She asked for the hospital cards and everything she paid for at the clinic.
She got home and met only the gateman at home; she went to her room to sleep. She was sleeping when she heard a husband car horn. The gateman opened the door and Oladipo asked if anyone came around, the gateman told him his wife was around, like a hungry and angry beast, he rushed into the house, Teniola was scared and she was on her knees when he came in. Oladipo didn't mind the plasters on her face and body as he gave her three rounds of slaps. Shouting at her, calling her different names, Teniola tried explaining that she had been at the hospital, but Oladipo didn't want to hear, he beat her and finally throws her into the dark room where he puts his children whenever he wants to punish them. The room was dark and it where they keep their old books, there are rodents in the room and insects of different kinds that can make someone stay awake all night. Teniola cried throughout the night. She had a dream where she poisoned her husband and he died in another woman's house. She woke up when a rat ran over her legs. She had a rough night.
The next morning, Oladipo instructed the gateman to open the dark room as he handed the keys to him, he leaves the house and the gateman who was aware of all that was happening ran into the house to free his madam. Meanwhile, over the night Teniola tried calling Dayo but he couldn't pick because of his August Visitor "Aminat". Dayo got home and saw Aminat cooking dinner with His sister Dolapo in the house. Dayo was amused, she told him she came to surprise him and only Dolapo knew because she came around to teach her how to prepare Dayo's favourite soup, egusi soup. Dayo was perplexed but there was nothing he could. He thought of breaking up with Aminat and sending her back to Port Harcourt, then he remembered that Teniola is not planning to leave her husband, so he decided not to put all his eggs in one basket. When Teniola's call came in, he was with Aminat, Muyiwa and wife, Philip and wife as they were invited for dinner. The next morning when he would call her, she had just been freed from the dark room and she has switched off her phone in order to sleep.
Teniola was sleeping when she heard her gateman scream loudly "Madam!!! Oga oh, Oga oh!!"
Teniola rushed from the bed thinking Oladipo has come again annoyed, she ran to open the door when she saw their gateman crying profusely. "Madam, go open TV, read news" he cried. Teniola rushed to the living room, put on the TV and clearly written as breaking news she read "Bank robbery in Lagos as Soldier named Colonel Oladipo Albert and other civilians were killed" Teniola fainted.

Dayo heard the news and although sad, he still felt happy for Teniola, the trauma would be over for her and maybe she would still come for him. He wouldn't mind marrying her with the kids. Teniola wept bitterly for her husband, she loved him. One of the family members called the eldest member of the family out that they should make her swear to their family god that she has nothing to do with his death. The gateman heard and told them about how late Oladipo treats his wife and what he did before he died that day. He told them that Oladipo could have died of food poisoning if his wife hadn't loved him so much. The eldest member of the family went into the house and confronted Teniola about what he heard. He saw for himself the plasters and wounds, but Teniola denied. The gateman came into the house and again said everything that has been happening in the house. Teniola denied that the gateman doesn't know what he's saying; she defended her late husband saying he is a playful man and they both play a lot. So her first child, Rachel 5 years old stood up and confirmed what the gateman said. Teniola buried her head in shame and cried. They all felt for her and asked her what she wanted. She told them to let her take care of her children with her husband's money and get married to another man as she is still young. The family agreed and Teniola was glad, after seven months of mourning her husband in which Dayo was supportive and helpful to her, she removed her clothes and veils of mourning. She had taken good care of herself and she looked more beautiful. She left her husband house and got an apartment, she drives her husband car and she uses the insurance in taking care of her children, she hired a maid and her mother came around to stay with her. Dayo and Teniola hang out most times and Dayo wished to ignite the love in them again.
James's wife gave birth and he invited both Teniola and Dayo for the naming at Kwara. They arrived on the day of the naming and couldn't leave because they missed their flight, so they decided to lodge at a hotel and get back to Lagos the next day. Unfortunately for them, the only available hotel had just one suite available, so they have to share the same room, Dayo disagreed and asked them to search further, Teniola was tired and told them to get it. They got in the room and decided to take their bath, Dayo went in to take his bath came out and Teniola went to take her bath too. They both wore the hotels pyjamas and lying on the bed, they didn't know when they started kissing and lo and behold, they had sex. Dayo felt bad, Teniola told him not to. That it was the last time it would happen and then it's been long she had it.
Dayo used the opportunity to ask for her hands in marriage and to make amends of the errors he made Seven years ago, but Teniola declined. She doesn't want him. She told him she can't go back to her vomits. Dayo felt bad, he felt there was more Teniola was keeping. So Teniola decided to open to him "Adedayo, it's not that i don't love, i would love to come back with you but I wouldn't want to marry you and cheat on you" Dayo was confused, he looks at her puzzled and asks "How?" Teniola sighed and continued "I have a very high sex urge and you can't satisfy me because you have never satisfied me. Several times i stylishly tell you to up your game, but you wouldn't. Oladipo came into my life and the first night i had with him, he satisfied all those sex urges you couldn't satisfy" Dayo was surprised he asked quietly "What about tonight's? I didn't try! Or i didn't do enough?" Teniola giggled and said "No, Dayo. You didn't" Dayo was perplexed; Teniola continued "Oladipo was a romantic kind of guy who would give you everything you could ever ask for, he was my dream husband. But i brought out the beast in him"
"How?" Dayo Murmured
"You remember the story i told you about me going to meet a client in the room for complaints and Oladipo found me and that's where the beating started"
"Yes"
"It's a lie; I cheated on him with his friend in my hotel"
“What?" Dayo screamed
"Oladipo was relenting in him pleasing me and i found a way out. Had i known i shouldn't have but his friend was good, irresistible? He satisfied me more"
"That's horrible"
Teniola smiled and faced Dayo "Can you marry someone who is horrible?"
Dayo couldn't answer he tried to say some words but it can't come out, Teniola continued, "I couldn't cheat on him again after i had turned him to a beast, you think i wouldn't have asked for a divorce if i wasn't enjoying it. When he rapes me, i enjoy every moments. Dayo you can't marry me because i am like a big bone for your thin throat, you can't swallow me and i can't go into your thin throat" Dayo was quiet so he talked "You can be helped, Teni" Teniola laughed harder "No, Dayo. Go find your own woman. I am not your woman" Dayo slept sadly. He knew Teniola wasn't right for me. It was time to need the needful.
He got to Lagos and asked for permission to travel to Port Harcourt, he went straight into the company branch in Port Harcourt and found Aminat in her office, he knees before her with a ring and a champagne and asked nicely.
"I have gone out to see if I could find someone better than you but i couldn’t find because you were made perfectly for me. Will you be mine forever? Will you marry me?"
