During this time the appearance of Carnage as a villain in Venom is still quite confusing. But thanks to the post of the main play Tom Hardy on Instagram not long ago, the rumors about Carnage seems not a figment.

In this post, Hardy shares a picture of himself as Eddie Brock, and right behind him looks the figure of Carnage lurking. Oddly enough, Hardy soon removed this Carnage photograph for no apparent reason. Hardy allegedly delete this photo because Carnage is a secret character that is specially prepared as a surprise in the film. But luckily, a netizen had "secured" the first Carnage photo.

FYI, Carnage is a character named original Cletus Kasady who is a serial killer. He is also known as one of the most sadistic and brutal villain throughout the history of Marvel comics. In his comics, Carnage was born from an alien parasite that permeated Kasady when he was in a cell with Eddie Brock aka Venom. Interestingly, Venom was once told in collaboration with Spider-Man to stop Carnage. Surely this opens up the possibility of Spider-Man ( Tom Holland ) appearing on Venom. In addition, Carnage's famous brutal action is judged to fit the R rating that Venom carries.

According to director Ruben Fleischer , the Venom film story will be adapted from two comics, namely Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes . The Lethal Protector essentially highlights Venom's and Spider-Man's collaboration against a team of assassins who have the power of symbiote (the alien parasite that transforms Brock into Venom). While Planet of the Symbiotes tells Venom who re-worked with Spider-Man to protect the Earth from the invasion of the symbiote forces. Yes, because these two comics both involve Spider-Man and symbiote other than Venom, the chances of their appearance in the movie were wide open.

In addition to Hardy, Venom also features Michelle Williams , Jenny Slate , Riz Ahmed and Woody Harrelson . Seeing the power of Harrelson's acting as a villain in War for the Planet of the Apes , it is not surprising that he turned out to portray Carnage on Venom , if this character is proven to appear.

Venom is scheduled to be released October 5, 2018.

This actually looks like quite a promising film, I was sold at Tom Hardy but I'm definitely interested to see one of the most sadistic and brutal villains in Marvel history as you say, looks like a decent cast as well! Thanks for the info, even more excited for this now!

Can't wait for this movie. Tom Hardy is one of my favorite actors, Spider man is my favorite marvel superhero and Venom is undoubtedly the most famous villain (or anti-hero?) of Spider man universe. So you will definitely expect an another masterpiece superhero movie. I am not sure, without carnage who is the villain of this movie? carnage will be the perfect choice for an original venom movie.

I'm excited about this. I think Tom Hardy could do a great job as Venom. I haven't watched a Spiderman movie ever since they picked the kid from That 70's Show to play Venom.
