10 things I learned from the 2008 crisis

in #finance7 years ago

1 .Live your life in the moment and don't wait for tomorrow to do the things you love. Tomorrow never comes.

  1. Don't trust banks. I moved my accounts from Wells Fargo who I had been with for 15 years to local credit union.
3.Inflation kills your savings. Groceries have risen quite a bit since then. I know shop at Costco and buy in bulk in the event of some kind of natural disaster, another banking crisis or civil unrest. *Don't dwell on those things, it will make you crazy.
  2. Invest for the future. Silver, cryptos, cash on hand, dividend paying stocks.
  3. Most people are either apathetic or oblivious as to how the system works against you or how to get off that crazy train.
  4. Condo prices are the first to crash and the last to rise.
  5. Listening to Alex Jones will disturb your inner peace. LOL. Nothing is worth that.
  6. Save for a rainy day. Ok I learned that long before then.
  7. Getting involved in the democratic process is important. Write a letter to your representatives. Silence is consent.
10.Money can't buy you happiness but at least you can suffer in comfort. :)
