Strength training as woman!?? why not ??

I write this blog for the lovely womans/girls that want to lift..

At the gym i hear daily:
'But I do not want to look like a male ...' (?)

You've probably heard a lady say in your area: Do strength training? As a woman? No dude - then you will look like a man! In this blog I explain to you with all my love, why women of strength training do not become male.

  • Hormones.

It all starts with hormones. These determine whether we will become a boy or a girl before we are born. In women, this is due to the hormone Estrogen. In men, this is due to the hormone Testosterone. Which hormone plays the upper hand in the first weeks after fertilization will determine which genitals will be formed.

But ... did you know that women also have testosterone and men also have estrogen? However, these amounts are considerably lower than the opposite hormone.

Testosterone is, as I said, the male sex hormone. However, it is also the hormone that causes 'growth'. This applies to all types of growth. Our length, our hair (also in places where we do not want this unfortunately), our muscles. Everything grows through this hormone.

  • Testosterone give you the muscles :)

Why women do not have to worry about becoming 'big' and 'male' through strength training comes from the amount of testosterone that occurs in the female body. A man has about 1000-100 mg of testosterone flowing through the body and makes about 7 mg of testosterone a day. A woman, on the other hand, only has 30 - 70 MG testosterone in the body and only makes 1-2 MG testosterone a day. This is 20 to 35 times less than the quantities in men.

When women want to become just as muscular as men, this can not be done in a natural way. Women will have to take testosterone for this. This often happens via a syringe. You know them - the big bodybuilders who use steroids. Anabolics Steroids are actually just testosterone cures that are brought into the body to gain muscles.

  • Ladies, do not be afraid to do strength training.

You get nice curves, a nice shape in your body & well-shaped muscles. Of course, your biceps can grow, of course your legs can grow (but your butt too !!!!). : P However 'how big' you become, is also a part of the construction. This is the case with women, but of course also with men. Some have a good genetic predisposition and their muscles grow very quickly. They also become muscular faster.

Furthermore, the right nutrition & training also plays a role in how your muscles will grow. But a woman can never become a 'man' naturally through strength training.
