Blondes Baking Cakes!

I've become the official "unofficial" Birthday Cake maker for the office. Our office is only around 25 people so luckily it's not an every day or even every week thing. It's a piece of added creativity and art that makes everyone (except the health nuts) happy.

The key to a super quick and easy to make, but fun cake, is the added ingredients and food coloring that can be thrown into a basic box mix and/or frosting. Most days I find myself in the office for 12 hours so I normally don't feel like getting too creative the night before a Birthday. I find there are a ton of ingredients out there that can spruce up a standard mix. For this one I used plain vanilla box mix and added green coloring (Forgot to take pics prior to going into the oven so take my word on that). Once I added the mix to the pan, I took Caramel sundae topping and made a tight zigzag across the top so that it was kinda floating on top of the batter. All these steps can be done in the 8 minutes it takes your oven to preheat. Once it was done, I let it cool off and added chocolate frosting, green sprinkles, and wrote the message in pink. The cleanup is minimal because I use a tin to-go cake pan that comes with a lid for travel and can be tossed when the cake is gone. The only clean up is the bowl you mixed everything in and the two mixer inserts on the hand mixer.
