Working Holiday #106 - Sugarcane Juice

in #food7 years ago

Have you ever wondered where sugar comes from?

Cane, a common plant here in north Queensland. The fields are either filled with banana trees or cane! The origin is Southeast Asia, but today it’s getting planted everywhere in the world where the climate allows it. Here in Cairns I went to Rusty’s market at the weekend and if you remember my way description how to find the Cubano store, then just go to the exact opposite side of the markets, to the right and you'll find a little stand which sells sugarcane juice. They make every juice 100% out of fresh products and shred the cane in front of your eyes. It’s cool to see the process of how cane juice is getting made but it takes pretty long… in my eyes that’s okay, it totally is worth it to wait for a good product!

a little coconut to go

miss those coconuts!

To make juice the sugar cane is being inserted between two moving cylinders run by a motor. I usually hear it is healthy to the kidneys.

and it tastes very good!

Good post my brother, very informative. Near my house there are people who harvest sugarcane and as you say, it does take some work to prepare it.

thank you my friend... yes close to my place too

what a refreshing juice. enjoy it ! (^_~)

thank you dear @sn0white!

Acouse your post I now history about sugarcane, thank you i.gordan

thanks for reading!

You're living in a beautiful location and cairns has chaged a lot since I have been there.
This drink looks refreshing. I have passed through so many sugarcane feilds and there's even a big processing plant nearby. But i have never tried the drink. Must do.
You know you're making alot of people jealous drinking from coconuts and all the fancy beer and food you have been sharing.
Ahh probably just me only.
Nice article.
I have to apologize about my steempower votes, im still learning and have been using all of my power up.

Steemit Together vote always .. !!!

Must have been delicious = ) I haven't tried sugar cane juice but I would love to since you recommend it. I doubt there's some in the city where I live but hopefully in the capital of my country there may be, who knows. How long does it usually take for the juice to be made ?

Thank you for contributing to the Steemit Community.Keep up the great work and I'm looking forward to your next posts.
