Aloo Pyaz pakode (Onion Potato Fritters) is a very popular snack available in the Maharashtrian region in India. They call it bhajia. These are extremely crisp in texture and tastes amazing with a hot cup of tea, especially if it's raining. I have so many food cravings these days but I can’t eat all this due to my covid situation. I don’t even have the taste and smell to enjoy these things. But I’m going to have these as soon as I recover. Let’s see how we make it.

Ingredients
S.No. | Ingredient | Quantity |
---|---|---|
1. | Potatoes | 3 Units |
2. | Onion | 3 Units |
3. | Besan | 150 gms |
4. | Red Chilli Powder | ½ TBSP |
5. | Coriander Powder | ½ TBSP |
6. | Amchoor Powder | ½ TBSP |
7. | Salt | As per taste |
8. | Oil | For frying |
Method
Step 1: Take the besan (Gram flour) in a bowl. Add all the spices and mix well.
Step 2: Now add water to the besan flour and spices mix and mix well. The mixing has to be done very properly to ensure there are no lumps. You can also use a blender or whisker for a quick mix. Keep it aside. Ensure the thickness of the besan mix is not too tight.
Step 3: Wash and peel the potato skin. Now cut it into extremely thin slices. Dip in water and keep aside for 5 minutes.
Step 4: Now take the onion and slice it into very thin slices. Using your hands, separate each strand of the onion slices.
Step 5: Now add both the onion and potatoes to the besan mix.
Step 6: Heat oil in a pan and slowly add a portion of the mixture to the oil. Fry until brown.
Step 7: Strain out the excess oil from the pakodas using tissue paper and sprinkle chat masala from the top.
Serve hot with a cup of tea!
Those look delicious. 😊
I hope your sense of taste and smell come back too. I lost mine when I had Covid and it was a horrible experience.
Thank you for your wishes. Yes this is indeed bad. Eating just for the heck of it, no taste absolutely.
