FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8
Purdue 34 - Ohio 24
Purdue threw a scare into offensively-potent Louisville, a clear sign Boilermakers an improved bunch under new HC Jeff
Brohm. Ohio is off a 59-0 knockout of cupcake Hampton, so will take a lead with rising Purdue. Bobcats 5-1 vs. number L6 vs. Big Ten opponents, but were double-digit dogs in most of those.
Oky st 42 - U.S.A. 24
OSU's terrific QB Mason Rudolph was in mid-season form in his team's 59-24 thumping vs. Tulsa. But, still interested in taking hefty price with never-say-die USA, which scored two late TDs in spread-covering 47-27 loss at Ole Miss. Jags strong-armed 6-1 jr. QB Cole Garvin (4th start; 19 of 31 for 204 yds. vs. Rebels) showed growth as game progressed. USA's highly-ranked secondary (9th in pass "D" LY) should bounce back after allowing Ole Miss QB Shea Patterson to throw for 429 yds.
