With UCLA this season....it's all about Chip Kelly and that spread-offense. Modster will be the favorite going in but it's a tight race and whoever finds themselves behind center....will have a short leash.
Grad - transfer KJ Carta-Samuels may have the best arm along with pin point accuracy. Problem is, he's a pro-style QB.
Kelly loves those duel-threat QB's and Modster fits the description.
Matt Lynch is a 6' 4" QB with similar traits. Moves well for a big guy and gets rid of the ball quickly.
Any QB that plays in Kelly's zone read and run-pass option scheme needs to be able to make decisions on the fly. It won't just be the best arm. In all honesty....I don't think there will be a clear cut winner until just before the season starts. Looking forward to it. Bruins were 6-7 last year. I'm gonna go on a limb and say UCLA wins at least 10 games for the first time since 2014. And wins the Chunky Salsa Bowl (no not really) lol or whatever bowl they get to play in. : )
I really like his size and his ability to get the ball out quick. It is important for young QBs to understand the value of making quick short passes and having a quick release. Too many get stuck holding the ball too long trying to make bigger plays down field. He also likes to run the ball and is very physical when doing it. Looking forward to seeing him next year.
The great football. Cool
