| Dès l'entrée dans le bâtiment principal surnommé le "Donjon", vous vous trouvez face à ce fameux escalier à double hélice dont le modèle serait attribué à Léonard de Vinci selon la légende. Cet escalier s'enroule en double révolution jusqu'au dernier étage du château. C'est vraiment très impressionnant. | Ouvert à la visite depuis longtemps, ce château a longtemps déçu les touristes : en effet, les étrangers ne comprenaient pas pourquoi le château était vide. Explication : jusqu'à une époque très tardive, le règne du Roi Soleil Louis XIV, la cour de France était itinérante. Le roi se déplaçait au grès des saisons d'un château royal à l'autre emmenant avec lui sa suite et tous les meubles. La cour de François 1er ne disposait pas du raffinement que l'on imagine chez ses successeurs plus tardifs. Depuis une quinzaine d'années, le château a ainsi été largement meublé mais avec des meubles des successeurs de François 1er : le comte de Chambord par exemple. Le mobilier est pour le coup assez hétéroclite mais de qualité. Il faut bien satisfaire le public... Selon les mœurs des rois et de leur époque respective, l'ambiance est peut-être intime ou très liée aux protocoles de cour nommé "l'Etiquette" en particulier sous le règne de Louis XIV. | Pour finir quelques vues globales du château. Les photos sont un peu gâchées par les travaux de rénovation actuel mais c'est un mal nécessaire. Le château est en pierre de tuffau : un calcaire assez tendre qui requiert des réhabilitations régulières. C'est à ce prix que ce splendide monument pourra perdurer dans le temps. | Finally, some general views of the castle. The photos are a bit marred by the current renovations but it's a necessary evil. The castle is made of tuffau stone: a fairly soft limestone that requires regular rehabilitation. It is at this price that this splendid monument will be able to endure over time. |

Ce château est décidément magnifique .. Je l'ai déjà visité plusieurs fois, mais pas ces 15 dernières années. Ce n'étaient pas les mêmes parties qui étaient en rénovation et il ne me semble pas qu'il y avait beaucoup de meubles, mais cela ne m'a pas empêchée d'être émerveillée, notamment par l'escalier à double hélice, évidemment !

On ne se lasse pas de ce château.
Le mobilier a été progressivement enrichi : tout le bas et le premier étage sont désormais meublés.
Quand j'étais gamin, il était vide.
Il faudrait que j'y emmène Ithara pour lui faire découvrir ce château, mais aussi quelques autres dans la région (Blois, Amboise et Clos-Lucé, ..).
Il y avait l'un ou l'autre buste exposé à Chambord, mais pas beaucoup + ..
