It was raining the day Peter decided to go. It didn’t matter, for there was nobody there to see him part—no one would get soaked waving at him under showery umbrellas. With showery faces. It was just him, not bothering to lock the door—there was nothing left inside anyway.
He headed east not because it was what everyone else did, but because it felt like the right way. The right path, even if not the least travelled. He hated clichés, but loved tradition. It was a delicate balance.
Sometimes he wished he had brought a camera with him—to capture the stillness of the mountains. The carelessness of the rivers. The patience of the woods—but most of the times he just breathed in the landscape, making it a part of his soul.
He walked until the loneliness became solitude.
Today's freewrite! based on the prompt solitude. Awfully short. I'm aware.
Short perhaps but very sweet.
It's your friendly free write encourager here with today's prompt:

Thanks :) and not exactly the prompt, but that's a good freewrite you shared there
Hahah, how silly I am but I'm glad you enjoyed it;)
Maximum effect with minimal word usage... I love it. Some great lines in this short piece:
"He hated clichés, but loved tradition. It was a delicate balance."
"The carelessness of the rivers. The patience of the woods"
and of course the last: "He walked until the loneliness became solitude."
Which is the kind of thing you think you've heard before, because it's such a clear, elegant expression that somebody should have put it that way by now... but they haven't.
Beautiful freewrite :)
Wow Thanks! I'm really flattered by the last lines hahaha
Thanks a lot for reading. I'm happy you liked it :)
For anyone interested, I'm trying to get a debate going on "over-population". Are their ethical ways to deal with over-population, while respecting human rights, and individual liberty? If you're interesting in sharing your thoughts and ideas, let us know what you think.
