100 kilos of fish
That is the topic. How much do 100 kilos of fish cost? Less than what the average American pays for healthcare, I guess. What a depressing thread.
How can that be? Are there really people that are okay with that? What are they? Religious wackos saying that who does not earn money has to die? That is surely not what Jesus would have said. We are humans. We need to get together, help each other. How can you so ignorant of this?
The richest country in the world and people die because they cannot pay for insulin.
I don't think even Emperor Palpatine would be so Dark Side as that. How can anyone stand by?
People should be shocked. Most people are. I am. I have wet eyes. How can you call yourself human and ignore such suffering? Because it costs money?
People die because there is no money for health care (there is), but there is more than enough money for "anti-terror" hysterics. Thousands die because the money of "anti terror" is not put to good use. More people than terrorists could ever kill, even if you give them a hand by letting them into the stadium with a truck of bombs.
I think people expect that other people are not 'troublesome' ... for some reasons. It is weird, right? Like, when we are in an unfavourable circumstances it is NOT like we want to be in such positions. But to people with more privileges than most, they usually will say, "Well, my parents didn't need such and such and they were self-made people. You should work hard too. You don't need other people's help to be able to afford health care because I dont way to pay for other people's stuff."
Anyway, I try to empathize when I can, of course, but it is sometimes difficult to empathize with people who are basically happy to say that they aren't interested in empathy. IDK. It's depressing for sure!
A healthcare plan is definitely needed in your country.

I left the us partially because of the poor healthcare. But my quality of like is so much better in SE Asia, I wish I would have done it years ago.
