She walked past that fence every weekday on her way to school. Just a young girl who couldn't help but be curious.
There was a hum on the other side. People were humming or singing there. There was more than one person. Everyday. What were they doing? What was it about?
It was a lovely bamboo fence that was too high to see over and she couldn't sneak a look around either. One day, she couldn't help hersenf. She went to the front door of this house and introduced herself.
"I'm sorry to be a nosy parker. It's just that I walk past this bamboo fence every day and I hear this singing. I don't know what it is. Can you tell me?"
The young lady laughed and invited the girl in. "I have someone I would like you to meet"
She led the girl into the back yard. There were two elderly Chinese people, a couple. These are my parents. They retired not long ago. Everyday they spend time in the garden, working on a bonsai garden, making it perfect and just relaxing and meditating. They can't help but sing.
The young girl couldn't help but feel the calm around the place. "Can I talk to them?"
"Of course"
She went and spoke to these elderly people. One's who could mentor; who could teach a child the art and beauty of bonsai.
A great bamboo fence. Love it. Reminds me of the Karate Kid film.
Thanks! A movie like that is a classic for depicting the wisdom of the older generations to be shared!
Agreed, a lot of wisdom from the Karate Kid & there were amazing movies from the 1980's.
Such a sweet story!
Thanks :-)
