Daily Opinion #2: Always do a little research yourself

in #funny6 years ago

In the days of social media and the internet, everyone seems to be fairly quick to make a negative judgement about a person or topic without doing any research. All too often, people will see meme about a person/thing that is not more than 15 characters long and will immediately assume that everything about that person is terrible, no matter what.

You don't even need a lab coat to do your research

The worst offenders are political divides. This is especially true in the US right now. Someone who identifies with the left/right or conservative/liberal etc will blast a meme to further their own agenda. After the meme goes viral, the entire heard will automatically assume that is the truth about said person/thing. Even if it was intended to just be funny.

Wait, where are we going again?

As humans in this century, we have a plethora of resources available to us in order to make enlightened decisions. There are hundreds of search engines available, but that doesn't matter, because, Google.

Back in my day, we called these books

You don't even have to leave your bed these days in order to start doing research and making an informed decision on a matter. You can purposely seek out non-biased sources for your information. Or, whatever, follow the heard. Maybe all of you will jump off a bridge together. Or, just maybe, we'll make it.

Whether we like it or not,we're defined by your values and morals. Many people try to separate their business and personal lives as much possible, but you can only do this to a certain extent. sometimes we do need to give to ourselves :D great share @dailyopinion
