Even huge companies run contests for logos (or even full-blown commercials!) — the worst case I've seen was when Aquent, a talent agency for graphic designers and programmers, ran a contest to have their new logo done.
Really makes a company look classy 😆
but extra points if you choose your own in-house designer as the "winner" bahahaha
