A colorful tree at Big Basin Redwoods State Park. Photo taken on my Nikon D7000.
Inane Comment
A keen treewatcher can tell when a tree is embarrassed by noting the flushed color of its bark. This is an involuntary reflex in trees when they become abashed. This happens on occasion when a tree notices a particularly attractive tree nearby, or when they shed their leaves at an inappropriate time, or if they're caught running around bark naked.
It could also mean they're angry at you, or have just been working out... Observers of humans have also had trouble interpreting emotional states from physiological responses.

Trees are so hard to read sometimes. I've discovered that they're a lot easier to read when you cut them down, grind them into pulp, press them into flat sheets, and dry them out. After that you can pretty much read them like a book.
Nice capture!!
