RE: Strange things you see at Denny's

That’s right. It’s really everywhere. I don’t pretend to have the answers to this, it’s a complicated matter. Around here in the Pacific NW, especially around Seattle, it’s hard to take you’re kids to a park because of all the needles left behind. This is not ok, and has to stop. I think the bigger question is what do we do with the ones that don’t want help. It’s easy to help people that want it.

My passion lies in homeless veterans.

Yeah, lived in Seattle too (Cap Hill and Green Lake). The problem up there was that the homeless were abnormally aggressive. Worst I've ever seen. The camps set up under bridges and in medians of highways/ramps is pretty unsightly too...

The ones that do want help have been given a substantial amount of options out. My aunt ran programs to get homeless people jobs at restaurants and service industries. Places to live, reliable buses to and from work, money management help.... and most pissed it away on drugs or couldn't get their shit together to actually show up for work consistently. There comes a time when you have to hold the individual accountable for their own situation.

I would tend to agree. The new thing they trying to pass up here is safe injection sites.... but that’s a whole another can o’ Worms. I’m against them, but my wife is an ARNP and she is for them.
