So is Destiny 2 on life support ??

So it all started way back in september 2014, the month the ambitious title Destiny launched by the creators of Halo (- Bungie). During the lifetime of the first title in the series, the hype went from over 9000, to 6 feet deep, to back over 9000.

There were made some big mistakes, but afterall the experience from Destiny 1 was amazing. Especially the last two years were great; The Taken King expansion fixed a lot of things that were just stupid, the Age of Triumph was one of the best updates ever (and free!) and showed how much fun the game really was.

With such a great ending of the first title and the enormous hype from Bungie (or Activision/Blizzard), Destiny 2 was looking to become the best 'sci-fi loot multiplayer first person shooter rpg' ever created. To be fair I have to say I'm very baised since Bungie created the best console shooter ever (Halo..). So with that in mind and the great ending of Destiny 1, I couldn't wait for Destiny 2 to be released.

So here we are, three months after the release of Destiny 2.. The launch version was okay'ish at best, a lot of content that was in the Age of Thriumph was nowhere to be found in Destiny 2. It felt like a reboot of Destiny, start from scratch with a new character and everything you've grind for in Destiny 1 is gone. I was okay with this, I understood that they wanted to give the same experience to old and new Destiny players.

What I think is absolutely garbage though, is the amount of activities and content at launch and the way weapon/armor stats works. It looked like all the good things they had learned from Destiny 1 were deleted and they were trying to reinvent the wheel again, but they completely dropped the ball. I guess they tried to balance PVE and PVP together, in favor for PVP. But PVE was and will always be the strongest point in the game, so it's sad to see some of these decisions they made.

The first DLC dropped, but there isn't a lot of content in there to get back to the grind. There is so much more they could do with the Infinite Forest and instead of bringing back some of the great Destiny 1 exotics they bring back the lamest guns ever (Jade Rabbit?? Come on Bungie..)

Also missing random stats/perks on weapons and armor is an absolute trash decision, why would you still grind when you got the weapons/gear already? Like there isn't going to be a difference when you get the same over and over, there is no need to grind for that weapon with a god stat roll cause every weapon is the same.. I see that they trying to fix this with the new Masterworks implementation (which is still garbage at the moment), so I guess we have to wait and see how this goes.

There are so many things to talk about, like the trash rewards for the new raid lair (Calus tokens, really bungie??) and so on and on.. Well, that was just a little venting from a fan.. Will be playing this game after some updates, hopefully they can bring it back to life. Will be back when they do!
