How to Make A Customer Happy. A Little Look Into Today's Gardening Job. Ep02

in #gardening4 years ago

Hi guys, not every day a customer will let you take a picture of their garden, I don't know why this is but today a customer gave me permission.

Even though it was a little job there was quite a bit of work that had to be put into it.

First of all, the lady I was doing the garden for is disabled and has many medical issues, one of them being that she can't remember.

So last week I went to see her about her garden as instructed by her daughter and today she couldn't remember that I was coming.

I happen to know that in the past she has had people take advantage of her by stealing because she has this issue.

When I went to price up the job, I explained that I needed things to do the job, such as plants and bark, she told me that she would have money for these items.

But when I got there she had forgotten all about what we had talked about and she then decided to offer me her bank card.

I was taken back by this as the last thing I would ever want is to be in control over someone's bank card.

I then decided to take things into my own hands and buy what she needed from my own money so there was no course for error.

I went to the garden center where I get a discount as I know them there and bought everything that I needed for the job.

What started out as a garden that was forgotten it turned into something I would call beautiful.

Here is my before pictures.

I had to put some weight behind this job as the flagstones that were holding the little bed in place had come away from the grassed area, I had to take them up and re-sit them in their new homes.

I then hand-pulled all the weeds out of the ground and bagged them ready for the compost heap.

I turned over the soil and added compost to it to give the plant I was adding some food to get them going.

I then placed the plants that I had got in place and took a step back, I clicked my fingers added bark and it was done.

what do you think?

The flowers I chose for this job were Bizzy Lizzy's, I thought that the red would go well with the dark bark that I got. I even added some shrubs that only grow to 2ft tall.

All in all, I was very happy with the outcome.

My customer was very happy, she took photos of it for her self, and while I was cleaning up the mess I had made neighbors came past and took my number as they want work doing too.

I was unable to touch the grassed area as it belongs to someone else, which is a bit of a bummer as I could have made the area bigger and with more flowers.

She phoned her daughter when I had finished who paid me for the job, so I was also happy :D

I wonder what tomorrow will bring as I have a little job to do, I wonder if she will let me take some pictures? who knows?

Until next time my friends stay safe.

:D
