In Today's Project Diaries will be showing you how to grow many types of Melons from Seeds that I've harvested from Shop Food Waste.
The Technique is very simple and easy to do. Once you're done just lay the seeds on some paper towel and let them dry out for an hour or so...
Most Melon Seeds look the same so always remember to label them up. Obviously, Water Melon seeds are easy to identify due to their black coating.
Using my quick and simple tutorial you will seed awesome results within a few weeks. If you'd like to see the full guide on how to grow Melons from Seeds check out my video link at the bottom of this Post...

This is a really cool idea. Any tips on how to make the melons more flavorful. We grew our first melons last year and they were really bland.
It's all about keeping the right temperature. Around 70F. Also regualr consitant watering but once the Melon has matured stop watering 2 weeks before havesting. This will allow the sugars to build up in the fruit :)
Oh great info. I've got a few good melons ready to harvest this month. I try to stop watering before harvest.
Thanks for the tip.
We got some wonderful melon seeds we saved this year that we can't wait to grow next year. This is an important and informative series you've got going. Keep it up!
Thanks @homesteadbuilder. The weather was awesome this year so I don't manage to produce any Melons to harvest. Hopefully next year we'll actually get a Summer. Good luck growing :)
