Today is the 30th of April, the 43th day of our stay at home with my family because of the Corona Virus. However it is Ramadan. Our government declared a 3-day quarantine. It starts after 12pm on Thursday and ends at 12pm on Sunday. 2-day and 4-day quarantines were previously announced.

Today we disscussed about street photography. Actually, based on my 12 years of photography experience, I will share some of my ideas with you.

I made them a list for you. What it takes to be a good street photographer:

  • Good vision and framing...
  • Patience
  • traveling very often
  • good equipment
  • plenty of money

- Good Vision and Framing : Friends, especially friends who are just going to start photography ... Read some books before taking a picture. You have to read about the technical part of the work anyway ... What I am talking about is you to develop yourself related to framing and creating your own vision.Nowadays, you don't just have to stick to books. You can learn these information from youtube and similar platforms without giving any money.

- Patience : It is useful to learn to be patient not only in photography but in every subject. In photography, your first frame may be the most beautiful frame, but sometimes your last frame will be your most beautiful photo. Patients will be those who taste victory. :) it was seriously a sentence, huh?

- Traveling very often : Being stuck in street photography will cause a cycle after a certain period of time. Of course, very beautiful frames can be taken. But it is useful to travel at certain intervals. These places do not necessarily have to be very distant places. The doors of a different world can be opened even if it is two streets away.

- Good Equipment: Friends, in general, a photography machine in the medium segment will be even enough. But if you are doing this job for pro purposes rather than hobby, you should have a really good machine. Now I know you will say: "Dude, you're shooting with your phone sometimes." Yes,true. But I don't use any of my shots for pro purposes. They can't be used anyway. My opinion is in this direction at least.

- Plenty Of Money : You may think I'm joking, but photography is an expensive hobby. Do this work knowing that.If you want to earn money from photography, you spend money at first. And we can add time there also. A good pro-photographer has plenty of money and time. Time fot travel, time for shooting and time for editing. As well as everone knows time is also money.

My first serious machine was the Canon EOS 450d. Last one is Sony a7R.Now, the market is out of the mortise every year, they have reduced costumer's purchasing power by releasing new models every year.Especially without making such incredible changes. So for a machine to be used with manual lenses, the Sony a7R is seriously gorgeous. The undisputed choice with AF lenses is Canon EOS 5d Mark 3. So Canon EOS 5d Mark 3 + Canon EF L 135mm f2 is good enough for me.

Have a nice and wonderful day for everyone who loves and to be loved and take care yourself.
