Genealogy: William Murray (1430-1459)

in #genealogy23 days ago (edited)

I'm experimenting with posting some random bits of my genealogy research here with the goal of eventually creating a linked family tree on Hive. You can see the index here.

Subject: Sir William Murray, Eight Earl of Tullibardine (1430-1459)

Relationship to me: First cousin nineteen times removed

Family tree management software: GenoPro

Family tree reporting software: Gramps

Other software used: The Next Generation of Genealogy Sitebuilding (TNG), GedSite (evaluating for now)

Updates: Found info on spouse and children but the dates don't really line up so more research is needed

Some of the notes below refer Isabel Stuart, William's grandmother.

The chart at the top is an ancestry chart out to four generations. The chart at the bottom is the same chart as generated by TNG. The index of all individuals I have posted so far can be found here.

I just downloaded genopro, I was very curious. When you install it and see the interface it can cause confusion about its use, but, reading the instructions it is quite easy to use and intuitive.

I will start registering my family, I like the idea, it's a way for people who once existed not to be forgotten.

For now I'm using the 180-day student version. Do you know how much the paid version costs?

Impressive how you can find such old data about your family
