2 Kings 12:4-5 (NIV)
Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the money that is brought as sacred offerings to the temple of the Lord—the money collected in the census, the money received from personal vows and the money brought voluntarily to the temple. 5 Let every priest receive the money from one of the treasurers, then use it to repair whatever damage is found in the temple.”
MESSAGE:
Donating money in Church for the work of God predates the birth of Jesus Christ.
In our days many people are not comfortable with this service to God. They criticize the priests who collect money for the work of God and call them many names.
This should not be so. Although there may be few abuses, but God's work shall be done with money inclusive. Instead of putting a clog in the progress of God's work through these criticisms, we should learn to give wisely and through the leading of the holy Spirit and leave judgment for God almighty.
Giving for the work of the ministry is the responsibility of all believers in Christ.
