Learn Guitar: C Ionian Spacing

in #guitar7 years ago

Didn't realize I missed the C Ionian spacing. The Ionian mode is the initial mode, and possibly the most famous scale in music, essentially Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do if you have ever heard that?

The intervals in Ionian are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 1. The spacing between these intervals is w, w, h, w, w, w, h. The other modes are essentially just doing Ionian starting on a different interval thus the spacing remains the same but is only shifted up or down a few units. Ionian uses a major chord since it has the intervals 1, 3, 5.

Tomorrow we will discuss the A min, pentatonic blues scale that is used in blues and rock, it is an interesting and fun modification to the minor pentatonic scale. We will then go on to discuss common inteval patterns including the 12 bar blues interval spacing of 1, 4, 5, which many common interval spacings use one or multiple of these intervals.

As always, thank you so much steem!!!

I could remember the sufa note you mention above, then during choir rehearser in church, we almost all the time began our songs on that notes, do, re, mi, f, s, l, ti, do, hope i got them correctly. I also had to use it during a few days i picked interest in learning guitar with a friend, i only had few days practice with him, then he relocated so we could not have time to continue, this actually buried my enthusiastic interest because i wasn't doing very well practicing on my own. Anyway, i would keep following you and try to pick up from where i stopped. Thanks.

Very good Brothers, interesting and wonderful.

Que agradable explicación y más en jovenes que se inclinan por estos ritmos que a veces se piensan son ara gente adulta.. Sería bonito que subieran en sound cloud algunas de las pistas....bravo por la explicación...
